It comes down to which CSR set up the.loads. one was ignorant or.didn't care so didn't let you know about the need to get an inspection done. The second didn't understand the difference between live unloading and dropping or was just trying.to have you prepped for all eventualities. I'd like to think the latter rather have hsn the former.

Guessing but those brakes look within SNI standards.

Major OCs with vending fir sundries have this cool little tool called go-no go tool. $3 or so. Has little notches and protrusions for the various depths we need to be aware of. SNI is usually 1/32 above regs for changing anything.

It measures steer and drive tread depths , trailer tread depths, brake shoe thickness and has hole for sizing window cracks and chips. Its about tge size of a key.

No those brakes where very much out of spec. The picture wasn't the best but the pad was shattered on both shoes. That kind of break damage is an automatic out of service.

No. Of course not. I write up the most inane ####. Usually to be able to drop old equipment. :DHehehe.

Just a heads up as we got a fleet message the other day.

Thanks, i appreciate the heads up. I prefer not to be stranded, put out of service or kill anyone when I drive. I take my pre-trips seriously and do multiple mid-trip inspections of my truck and trailer through out the day. Comes from the habits that are beat into you as a pilot during school. Very hard to just park the plane on the nearest cloud and wait for road assist to help you. To many drivers today don't care and know that road assist will come to there rescue.

I have been driving over 2 years and haven't had a roadside breakdown. Call it luck or whatever, but I plan to keep it that way :) All of the issues I have found wrong with a truck or trailer were all in a safe location like a truck stop, terminal, rest area. I also fix a lot of stuff on my own out here as well so I am dependent on someone to come to me to get rolling.

This morning's lesson I learned. If you unhook under a load at an OC for the weekend prepare to come back to a broken seal....even if it's a shippers seal.

yep, thats an issue. may not stop that sort of thing , but you could just put the bills in the bill box. or use bolt seals.

one way to potentially solve this is to allow us some kind of access to an available trialer list. for a short time a couple years ago , a drop down box was available attached to the pu mt task in wf. lasted maybe 6 months? I found it beneficial.
