I made a Choice to come to Schneider

You have to be careful with that plan. I have no experience with those companies, but I would bet they have a non compete clause in there contract that would prohibit you from using there brokers if you went out on your own. I guess I'll put it this way. Let's say you go over to one of those companies, use there brokers for a year and then decide you kind the freight so much and the accounts you have been running you want to get your own numbers and run. Well now you just took business away from that old company that you wouldn't have known about or had access to most likely as a single truck operation. That would be like me trying to take one of Schneider's customers, Schneider would not be happy and most likely come after you because you had the proprietary information on how they run the freight for that company, what rate they run it at and all that good stuff.

I'm just saying it would surprise me if they didn't have that clause in there contract. I think I remember reading that in Schneider's contact/agreement.

I thought you had to keep it there for a year first?

 

I know a IC who got fired because he left the trl unsecured. He parked his truck and trl , on the side street at the ATL OC. He did not put a lock on the trailer and someone broke into it. SNI fired him, but he got to keep the truck. He is now working for LS.

On yeah, learned that lesson a couple weeks back. This whole "Jill is the best gos and knows the exact place and way too get to a location" bs they feed you in orientation is just that, bs. Was running through Pennsylvania a few weeks back and my gps said it was 15 miles longer then want Jill said. I was like, "hey, let's trust that know nothing botch". I had so many stop lights and hills, I figured she was trying to make me insane. Her 15 mile shortcut cost be an hour. I've learned to go with my gps over her until I'm within a few miles of the location now.

Another good example, try following her directions to the p&g in Tunkhannock coming from the north. I think it's 29 she takes you on. Yeah that's her way of trying to kill you. That road really isn't meant for a truck and trailer at all! It's with the extra 10 miles going to 6 instead!

 

They told you to trust Jill in orientation? ####, from day one they told me to #### Jill in Dallas. That was for company orientation, tho...

 

Jill is mainly best used when you get close to the customer. Using her from point A to point B will have you on goat paths all the way to save 5 or 10 miles. She is good to get you to the customer though.
