There is a shortage of drivers!

They just leave out the CHEAP from in front of drivers....

    Just an oversight.

They were going to give it to a company driver and had not realized you already picked it up.

It's happened to me before where I was under the load and talked to company guy who was just assigned it.

What is the mentality of pulling off of an I\c and giving it to a company driver? I had loads pulled off other company guys because they couldn't do them or it was an account that we were about to lose due to,service failures

My guess is just to keep company truck moving.

I don't know if it's the case in fatdaddy's case but I know for a fact in my case they had pulled it off me before I got to the shipper. I looked on load board and it was available so I rebooked it and drove to the shipper figuring it would cancel again ( I was 20 miles away) I went into the shipping office and Gave them the pick up number and they gave me the paperwork to the only preloaded trailer they had ready and that all the other were live loads due to no empties. I walked out and was standing outside talking to the other IC's who were there being live loaded, when a company guy walked up and joined the conversation and stated he was just assigned a load headed to TN that was pre loaded. He went inside and I went and hooked up to my pre loaded trailer going home to TENNESSEE.

Frieght is slow.... Company trucks come first. That's the way all carriers work it, most won't admit it.

    TennMan Thanks this.

I think it was simply a case of somebody not paying attention that the load was picked up. It's a same day Austin to Dallas run and the receiver closes at 1630...that's the only thing I can think of.

Except in this case my tasks in workflow were all completed...including departure.

Just another day at the pumpkin patch.

Yes.. pretty much for the most part... Simply because they kept their kind of the load and they don't have any expenses with hauling a load what an IC does it

But sometimes they need to move company trucks and it's better to have them moving freight than just moving.
