Samantha, if what you are saying is true then the school you attended may be in breach of contract.
I have sent you a private message.
What were the dates you attended school there? -
Samantha, I keep thinking about your situation. There are enough positives in this situation that I think you will succeed in finding a job as a truck driver then receive all of the OTR training and experience you need to polish your skills.
Keep in mind you did demonstrate and accomplish enough skill and knowledge to obtain your CDL.
That does count for something!
It sounds like you took and passed the driving test at the DMV using a truck with an automatic transmission?
And you must have demonstrated to the examiner that you knew enough about the truck, it's systems, and the pretrip
inspection to pass that part.
Many private schools do only teach enough so you can pass the examination and get a CDL.
You will learn how to drive with your first employer and the mentor you are assigned to.
I think you should go ahead and start calling the recruiters for the companies you would like to go to work for. JUST GO FOR IT! -
And you did have a chance to retrain in the manual-shift Freightliner.
Your fiance/husband went through the same training with you, both of you got your CDL's.... What's really going on here?
MT provided to you all of the training promised on their website and contract, and did listen to and address your concerns. -
I think the best advice you got was to go to a big company like swift they'll train you and send you out with a trainer for 6-8 weeks at the end of that time you'll either be proficient enough to go out on your own or you'll know this is not for you and find another career. Either way your already out of pocket, going to and paying for a new school is a unnecessary expense, let the trucking company pick up the tab for whatever training you need from this point on, plus they'll probably reimburse your tuition!

Plan B trucking is a part of the school and only trying to pretend to be a driver.
-
I learned very little in school too and paid way too much money. I will have to just go with whatever company will take me and hope to learn enough to be on my own at some point.

Chinatown Thanks this.

Yes, it must all be a conspiracy. -
I went to MT Training Center as well. People please don't waste your money. This place is a joke. I have my permit but but that's all I have. They have ####y equipment they don't teach you anything and expect for you to just know what to do. I would not recommend Mt Training Center to anyone ever. They said too much driving time the school will his money. The success rate at Mt Training Center to pass on your first try is 18%. I know four-year-old they could do better at instructing then the ones they have. A $5,000 to go to this school for absolutely nothing . Do yourself a favor find another school
