I saw a TMC driver do a really tight Uturn in Kingdom City, Missouri at the Petro with a big coil on. He was about 2/3 of the way through it when one of the trailer rims busted, that sure made quite the bang.

"if it takes you 20 seconds to do a u turn then the only problem is driver error "

Okay wiseguy I challenge you to do it and have someone put you on the clock. And do it with a load on which would be the norm. You might do it in 17 seconds or so possibly but it will probably take you an additional 40-60 seconds to get up to the speed of traffic on all but the slowests of speed limits. You obviously are more about winning a message board argument than you are about reality or safety.

Hey JimmyBones we hear your pain mate first of all don't put yourself down we've all made or done silly things in our lives its all part of the learning curb and welcome to the school of hard knocks she's a hard task master but a fair one too you've learnt a valuable lesson about not parking a fully laden truck in soft ground and hopefully you'll be alot wiser from the incident yeah i agree with one of the other posts if you can afford it get someone to tow you out and no one needs to know although there may be other folks in here that may figure out which company you work for and report it anyway in which case your in the hot water dude. Sometimes honesty is the best policy and just report it to the company that way they may be understanding with you hopefully and give you a break remember be humble about it accept your mistake and move on with life. we've all been there done that , anyways i hope things work out for you.

    JimmyBones Thanks this.

Not normally (unless I'm seriously overweight or starting on a steep-### hill).

Here's some shocking news for you to ponder: It should take longer to do a 180 degree turn than a 90 degree turn. (I'm taking it from your posts you weren't much of a student were you?)

And I recall being in a safety class (you've heard of those, right?) and the instructor said it takes an average of 13-15 seconds to complete a left turn with a typical 40,000lb load from dead start to completion. Being that 180 degrees is significantly more than a 90 degree maneuver a 20 second estimation is reasonable in my opinion. I suppose you disagree. If so please enlighten me as I find your responses highly entertaining.

i did acknowledge that it takes longer to make a u turn than a left turn, but not by much

you said traffic has to be clear for the entire 20 seconds

what about the few seconds in advance where you see your opening and start rolling in advance? or do you not think that far ahead

i dont see what the big deal is.....why you gettin your feelings hurt over something this petty?

I don't have my panties in a bunch. I just enjoy a logical debate.

Several of your responses were very revealing about your judgement and (lack of) thought processis.

I guess I enjoy yanking your chain and you surely didn't disappoint. Thank you, it was fun.

    Oh yeah, almost forgot,

I don't suppose you know why rolling into a maneuver before a hazzard has cleared is a bad idea, do you?

Well at least you didn't have to call a locksmith because you locked yourself IN the truck. I heard about this Swift driver once, ...
