well last night i saw david allen coe and i was hammered out of my mind (still trying to piece the night back together). 2 cops came up to talk to me, all serious you know how they are. come at you hard to intimidate you and crap. well within 15 seconds they were laughing their ###'s off with me and i was high fiving them. it was a good time. what was odd to me thinking back though, i left the concert early to go pass out in my friends car, as i was leaving one of the cops says to me "you out of here big guy?" "yes i am brother!!" he gives me a pat on the back i head out. nothing seems weird right? well what i didnt understand was that i was leaving by myself, completely drunk barely able to walk and he didnt ask me if i was driving hahaha!

anyway it is funny when you get to talking with cops and they turn out to be alright

I've had some time to digest the events of yesterday. What I realize now is that I lost time and $$$$ because I didn't take the miniscule amount of time it would have taken to log my hometime. I was ignorant of the requirement to have BOL number/commodity, etc on the log, but, again, ignorance of the law is no excuse. I know now that I don't have the luxury of deciding when or where I'll catch up the book. It has to happen before the wheels begin to turn.

LOL all around for the above.

Sorry to read you got a ticket Oldnewbiegonnabe, hope it doesn't cost you too much. I will remember your experience in the hopes I can avoid the same type of problem, so, thank you too!

With regard to having your log book page signed: I recall being told that technically they are to be signed at the end of the day, as it asserts that all the entries are true and accurate, and confirms the DVIR. I was told immediately after that: DoT probably won't give me a hard time about it, but if a local or state cop asks me to sign it, just sign it.
