dunno what oc register is but if that is handling cash which it sounds like { retail cash register } then a call from potential employer and some sort of "anger" story - if it is real - could cause some companies to disregard convictions, I cannot go too deep on this if that will pss you off but fact of matter is if you can win customer then if you did not haul anything from your dad's door "to the fence" then I would not give up on it and just hope for application review by someone who is thinking ~ that is very rare in today's world but that is my answer for you

I dont think the felony will affect you. be upfront like the guys said. Fill out the application go thru the interview but dont quit your job until they give you a thumbs up. On first impressions make sure your clean and ironed out. Strong handshake. Look at your potential employer right in the eyes. Dont dwell on a answer be precise and dont studder. Dont move your hands to much when you talk. You should be fine. Good luck keep us posted.

If it askes you on the application then fill it out. Most places ask for the past few years so if it askes for 3 years, and it was 5 years ago for you then you dont have to put it in the application

if you read § 391.15Disqualification of drivers. you will find that "officially" it do not make a rat's carcass + economy is not weakening so I would advise to at least put in it what you are putting in it so far, "trick" is to not get over-eager and immediately start working "plan-B" type ideas ~ even if only in your head

Actually they are but to answer your question directly I have to say some things that will __ss off a lot of very smart people, or at least they think they are......

That actually is the companies decision ~ the way you have worded what it gets to is doing an effective search - some companies do not actually eliminate on simple "prior" decision basis or do some thinking about what it actually is .... most do not actually do a lot of "background" checking { or at least as much as you would think } - in fact some are doing a credit check to see if they can sue you for total bull is more like what actually goes on ......

lot of believe it or not goes for legit in our society, with very little twisting we can say that laws designed to see if you have been in prison are exactly that ( the idea being they get a sign-on bone-us from those who want to bone us )

In answer to your underlying question here, $ is the ultimate authority + beyond that it is just flat up to the company beyond any regulations I cite,......

for a fee some lawyer can actually fix even that probably

you aint seen screwed up till you see how the law works......

I can't say with certainty what the other poster meant, but I would read this as "as long as you didn't steal anything and sell it off"
