Okay so everyone asked me to widdle down my wish list since it was a "a mile long." As a reminder I've been out of trucking for three years with three years prior OTR experience. No moving violations or accidents. No criminal background. A pretty nice guy if I say so myself...definitely more unpleasant people could show up to the customer. Pulse still beating last time I checked. Fog a mirror? Check.
Can you please help me with some company recommendations for this core list of what I want? The list is more-or-less in descending order of importance. I plan to live on the road.
No driver-facing camera
Permanent rider program from day one (free or reasonably priced)
Double Bunk Sleeper
No Reefer! (Dry Van or would entertain tank or conestoga flatbed)
No NYC (preferably no northeast)
2000+ watt inverter
APU preferable or lenient idle policy
Refrigerator
50cpm or greater
Breakdown, layover, detention pay
Not Danny Herman. Been there done that. Back then I thought it was all about long runs. Then I worked somewhere else and realized it's better to have a balance. It actually felt good to break up the monotony and bump a dock every once in a while. Not every day or multiple times a day, but you get the idea. I'd rather make the same amount driving 2500 miles vs. 3000 miles.
If I could squeeze in one more: No Chicago
Strong preference for a company that goes west at least 50% of the time.
Prefer delivering in rural areas things like farm products.
I don't need to come back to TN once on the road, nor do I really want to drive in TN either. No ties.
Address on my CDL points to the Nashville metro area.
I had tank/hazmat endorsement and doubles/triples. I'm sure the hazmat is no longer valid.
Tank I believe is good forever.

Add in:
* Nonslip seating
* non smoker cab
* Benefits
* Decent pay, includes for training/orientation and pays more than .53 cents a mile or $27 per hour
* Don't have to live with a trainer in a cab for training if it's OTR
* Can be counted on to fix problems on the truck and won't have a target on their back from DOT from a history of violations and OOS stuff
* Won't keep money up front out of your pay to hold onto as an insurance policy or hostage taking to not walk off a job or to cover their insurance deductible if something goes wrong
* Is honest, reliable, and dependable
* Newer and reliable equipment
* No touch freight if dry van
* Don't have to lay money out of my own pocket for operational costs and hope to be paid back later
And then let me know too.austinmike Thanks this. -

The last company I worked for was actually pretty nice. They did a lot of ag chemicals, and it was a very irregular route kind of company. The most variety of routes I had with any company. I really like that. I'm not too crazy running the same few routes over and over again. They were heavier on the east coast though, and it was a firm "no" if they could provide me with more western work. They just did not have the freight base for it.
