Billboards, yellowpages, theres more lawyers than truckers.

DUI lawyer will tell you to come up with $10grand. He will go play golf with the judge and they will have it either thrown out or reduced. That was an expensive drink you had there.

Did you have the keys in hand or in the ignition and were you inside a motor vehicle with your blood alcohol level over the legal limit?

The keys were inside the car, my cuz was driving we got stuck in a dicth at 3:30am leaving a party. I was unable to find my cell phone because it was dark and I was drunk. He walked to a store we had just pass to call someone. When the officer came he did not ask me to take anything he just locked me up. He refused to go by the store were my cuz was. After being arrested I refused the test because I was drunk but not driving.

were the keys in the ignition, if they were you are screwed because that is considered intent to drive the vehicle. you need a good one

    Hell
In Wisconsin the keys could just be on the floor and thats drunk driving:yes2557:
They do seem to treat drunks as cattle
Again in Wisconsin just refusing the test is 6 months suspension

    Something is being forgotten here.

The car was in a ditch. The officer could have and probably should have charged him with drunk driving.

    He could have killed someone.

I am assuming that he was the owner of the car and the cousin was indeed driving. In a case like this, do they automatically assume the owner of the car was driving? What if the cousin would have been found that night and admitted that he was the one who was driving (drunk I am assuming also since the car was in the ditch)? Since the cousin wasn't arrested, how can this guy prove his case that he wasn't driving? But the burden of proof is on the officer to prove that he was driving, so couldn't a good lawyer possibly raise the idea of reasonable doubt? Many questions on this one.

    DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!!

Actually the burden of the proof is equal.

Can you imagine the number of calls I have been on for single vehicle accidents in the middle of the night and there is no driver? Even if there is one person?

The car did not get there by itself. Many have decided to say they had a friend driving. Now, we spend many hours searching the area looking for the missing possibly injured person only to find out later there was only one in the car.

Yes, I am biased. I have to deal with them at night.
I lost a brother in law to them.
