Make sure you leave your fingerprints on the steering wheel so they know you were driving, not me.

I have had a few fatal's that were this way. The worst was two brother's who had been out on a cousin's bachelor party in Sept. 1998. Around 3 a.m. on a sunday morning they were in a little compact foreign car running 80 mph in a 40 mph "back road" and failed to negotiate a curve. The car went into a field and barrel rolled 4 times. Both were thrown from the vehicle, with the younger brother having the car roll over him, crushing his insides and he bleed out shortly after my arrival on scene. The other brother lived and had a blood alcohol level at .24 BaC. The vehicle was his vehicle and when they left the party he was the driver. Other than that we had to piece it back together. Our crime lab personnel were able to get the living brother's hair from the windshield and his blood on the head liner above the driver's seat in a smear where his head struck while overturning. Of course he wasn't the driver, which was his statement. However, the DNA evidence proved otherwise. Besides the manslaughter conviction, he has to live with the fact that he killed his little brother everyday.

People who drink should never get into a vechical of any kind after drinking imho, They should just go where they plan on drinking and stay there until sober, that way they don't have to look around for a designated driver, don't have to spend money on a cab, and don't take the chance of driving drunk and killing someone.

My son was killed by someone so drunk, he could not tell what he had hit, and it still light outside, it wasn't dark, but even if it had of been dark it was not a road that had obstructions that would of prevented a sober driver from seeing him.

My dh sister was killed by a habitual drunk, who never learned to stop drinking and driving. That one would of been better off to of bought his beer or other alcohol, and went directly home, and frozen his car keys in ice till he sobered up,

Too many people are killed by drunks who think it's okay to drink and drive, and imho anyone who drives after drinking should be and is nothing but a sloppy drunk and should be confined to some kind of cage until they get enough sense to not drive drunk.

I don't really care if someone wants to or likes to drink, that's their business, but they should keep it at home imho or someplace where they will NOT be driving at all until they are completely and totally sober, so maybe they won't go kill someone.

Also imho I don't believe an officer would of just taken someone to jail for no good reason, maybe one would but imho the jails are too full for a police officer to just go carting people off to jail without a real good reason.
