I gave Roehl a call a long time ago and I was very interested in their 14 days out and 7 days off plan. I was told that I had to live within 50 miles of a terminal and so I was very disappointed and hung up the phone. Here it is a year later and I got to thinking how much I really want that plan. I got in touch with a recruiter and we went back and forth on several emails and this woman absolutely could not give me any answer whatsoever as to why I must live within 50 mi of a terminal. I assured her that if it had anything to do with where the truck would be on my time off, it would be at the terminal and she never even replied to that. It seemed pretty close to impossible to get any information out of her whatsoever because she was so pushy about me filling out an application so she could probably try to sell me on one of their plans. Is there some insider here who knows something about this company and what it actually will take to get that plan? Do I just need to temporarily "move" near a terminal in order to get the job? That wouldn't be hard to do but it seems like such a waste of time and effort for no reason. She asked me questions that seemed to be irrelevant like where my license was out of and where I live now. It's funny that they didn't care to ask me that question when it comes to their 14 days out and 3 days off plan. I told her that I could work out of the Atlanta terminal and still no reply except to ask me to fill out an application. Anyone?

I believe at one time that 14/7 was a slipseat deal, thus wanting the tractor at a terminal. Not so sure about now.

I would have to assume it is slipseat. Would not make sense otherwise. I think the 50 mile "rule" is to make sure the driver shows up on time for their shift. Remember......we are dealing with truck drivers here. I'm sure they have heard every excuse in the book as to why a driver could not show up on time. Even from the drivers that live 3 blocks from the terminal. Schneider used to have a similar program where they would put you on a plane and fly you to your assignment. I would think that sort of schedule would kill your earnings though. All depends on your income requirements I suppose.
