I drove for swift transportation for 10 months (2009). I was discharged because of hard braking and the reason I did that because of stupid drivers cut me off twice. now I was not accepted by 2 companies. they said ( SAFETY MATTERS). this makes me feel bad I don't know what to do. any ideas!! thanks

Something just don't sound right about that. I've never heard anyone getting fired for hard braking. There is bound to be more to the story than that. I'm not saying that you are not telling the whole truth. But rather on Swift's end. Big companies like that get away with alot of bs and seem to get away with making up the rules as they go. Unfortunately, with the new CSA 2010 approaching, that reason for termination may have more of an effect on you than you realize.

alright guys, nothing is missing , but here is the thing. I drove for 9 months of course I was driving back and forth from new york to north north carolina and never done anything wrong until i had a load going from RI to CT and then someone cut me off on an exit ( cos he wanted to take exit before me ) and that happened on 11/04/09 and second one happened on highway 50 west virginia 11/25/09 when someone again cut right in front of me. the only way i could avoid slamming into them was to hard brake. the next morning of course i got a phone call to go back to terminal for final safety class and listen to this. I want all truckers to listen to this and i'm very honest. after i explained everything to the safety guy.( HE TOLD ME THAT WHEN SOMEONE CUT YOU OFF IT'S OK TO RUN HIM OVER THAN TO ROLL THE TRUCK OVER AND) i said (YOU WANT me TO KILL PEOPLE AND GO TO JAIL INSTEAD OF SAVE LIVES?!!! AND THE SAFETY GUY STARTED SMILING AND SAID TO ME DO NOT MISSUNDERSTAND ME BUT THIS IS SWIFT POLICY). 10 days later they sent me home. I don't get it. I was trying to save housands of dollars for the company and look what I've got.

    please what does CSA mean?

Yes something is missing ! What were the results of hard braking that made the Safety Manager aware of it ?

Did you ask "What CSA means?" at the bottom of your post? Did that little acronym come up in your talk with safety? Just curious!
