I would put the plates in your name, not the companys. Sure you have to deal with the IRP paperwork, but if it dosen't work out with the carrier and you decide to go somewhere else, the plates belong to the carrier if it's in their name even though you paid for them.

I was thinking the same thing now coz if it doesn't work I'll lose the plates if I'm leaving

I've done that here 3 times. You can go to the office on Laramie. You use the account of the company to which you are leasing, and pay $3.00. You'll need to get ifta too.

Around 1 month they will bill the carrier, even if you don't finish the application. But if you're planning on staying with them for a while, this might be the best deal to start running your truck as quickly as possible. You do not need the title nor 2290 for the temp, but you will for the permanent.

Nv always does a vin inspection when any vehicle that's titled from another state is being registered in nv its to check for stolen property
I picked my truck up in Omaha and drove it to Reno no problems it's not that big of a deal

If I'm using the company IRP account to get the 45 days plates, and in that time I'm doing my IRP account, the company will not be stuck with the permanent plates and having to pay the plates for a full year?

Yes, unless you cancel it immediately.

When I had my truck I was leased to Landstar and lived in Tx. My truck was titled in Texas. But my registration, through Landstar, was from Illinois. So would the IRP and Ifta be in Illinois. Call the Nevada dmv and find out about this and find out about any taxes so you will be able to make the right decision.

It's nice to see somebody else concerned about not stealing because it's not right.
