Beer is the perfect beverage. Not coffee. Coffee is for people who lack initiative and motivation. Beer is how the heroes of old rewarded themselves for a good days work.
I need answers thanks

Best thing to do next time is drink a cup of coffee about 30 minutes before you test and hold it until the test. You will have to go and it won't be diluted. Caffeinated coffee that is.

Trucking is a career with unlimited upside. Financial independence. A lifelong thing
It requires you give up weed. For such a harmless non-addictive little green plant, weed sure seems hard for people to give up.dunchues Thanks this. -

It will take several months to clear that crap out of your system. A positive or negative test with something in result that is in the middle IS a indicator that yes there is something going on.
This industry is zero tolerance. If you are caught with a hot test, everything related to the CDL you worked for now is no good. You will end up paying a bunch of money and attending a SAP program designed to crush anyone intent on being around that life style. If you did survive such a program about a year later and are clean maybe you can start over again. But in the end, this smoking stuff has to stop in your presence.
I don't care if your state says it;s legal for this or that or something else. CDL and trucking is a federally regulated industry and as such Pot is automatic DQ and illegal. Period.
When I was very young I had certain friends who smoked pot. I literally cut them out of my life completely to protect my Class A as 1991 approached with the new CDL mandate to drug test etc. That worked well. But those people I have not seen since and it's unfortunate. But for me I never had a hot test or even a middle result in trucking.
Now I am a pain patient and am drug tested monthly to assure that medicine is in the blood and urine to a certain level. If it came out in the middle that automatically is a negative signal saying I have not taken medicine in the last 30 hours prior. Or even as long as 5 days prior. At that point they demand the bottle, count the pills against refill date and red flag you as a potential sales, diversion, especially abuse and other problems.
A determination of that nature will be entered in a state AND most especially a National data base and I will not be able to access those kinds of medicines again.
I know both sides of the situation as a trucker who tested negative and later as a medical patient who has to test a certain amount and not trucking.
Good luck.Slowmover1 and Jgamboa Thank this. -
You only get a negative or a positive, inconclusive doesn't exist with just the lab, the MRO would contact you and explain what it means and what your next steps are.

What I am trying to show is that drug tests are exceedingly good these days. It dont take but a smidgen of something to show up. -
Actually once the lab gets the specimen they either dip testing strips or use special cups with strips built in. If there is no reaction everything is disposed of and a negative result is transmitted to MRO. Said MRO then sends this to carrier. If there is a reaction the lab sends this information to MRO and awaits further instruction from MRO. In most cases after speaking to driver the MRO will 1. Have the lab use the other sample sent tested with a better test method or 2. Have lab dispose of specimen and either report to carrier a simple disqualifying positive. Or a none disqualifying positive based on drivers information. This goes back to my main point. A carrier in almost every situation today does these orientation collections in a secure place. It is the carrier that sends the specimen to the lab. They don't send the driver to another lab. The driver has ZERO contact with the lab.
AverageJoe2u and x1Heavy Thank this.
