I need help deciding on a new company

All the line haul companies are growing and need drivers. YRC opened their own school because of rapid growth. You can transfer between terminals also. For example, you're at a terminal in New Jersey and want to move to Texas, then you can transfer there and not have to change companies.

 

I called them hmmm . Now only thing be I have to decide is local17/he touch or OTR Pbm no touch.. and location

U believe I would of been considered if it was t for my location of travel ? Smh... ines in jersey and it's still too far and I'm in queens. I'm thinking of getting a P.O. Box and say I live there just to be considered .

 

You have to re-apply to a new terminal at YRC you can't just transfer because of the different union locals. Might be possible at non-union ltls. I know a lot of them have dock to driver programs now.

I need help deciding too. I haven't drove in 13 years, a farmer locally here wants to hire me on, guaranteed home weekends, 2020 pete 379, 18 speed, pays percentage, can run hard due to ag exemptions... but I want to get into tanking. OFC Schmidt wants to hire me too, I'd like to do tanker but dang, I worry my fat ### will fall off of the top of the tank plus they haul sulfuric acid and other hazmat, the recruiter says he has big dudes that do it 400-500lbs. Plus OFC Schmidt has driver facing cams...like why? I don't do drugs or F with lot lizards... I just can't decide, ugh!

 

My buddy weighs 300 lbs. and does tanks with no problems.
Use the 3 point of contact method and you'll be ok.

 

You can also use Escapees RV Club and get an address in Bushnell, Florida.
Lots of truckers use this method. Take a few days off and drive to Florida and take care of it. @VinceBlack is the newest driver I know of that's done this.
