Ok guys, I need your help! I have a bad mvr! I am a good driver, and one incident lost me my career, and soon will make me everything else! I'm from Florida. But back in September 2012, before I had my cdl, I was in Indiana visiting my wife's family. I came to a light and was preparing to turn right. A police car was at the light to my left on the street I was turning on to. He was four cars back. My light was red but I was able to make a right turn on red. So I looked and went. Next thing I know, the cop has it's lights and sirens going and was flying past cars. I pull over to get out of his way. When he pulls ME over. I'm thinking what the heck did I do. Well the cop thought I did a lot!
He gave me 3 tickets that day! Running a red light, illegal turn in an intersection (he says I went from the far right lane to the center lane) and changing lanes without signaling (I changed lanes to get out of his way, and forgot my turn signal)! Well I went to the Indiana clerks office to see if I could fight it. The clerk there told me that the cop did this to at least 4 people a week from this intersection. But the soonest court date was months away, and I was heading back home to Florida. Marion county (Indianapolis) allows you to pay two different prices. The lower price, they send the ticket info to the dmv the higher price keeps it off your record. So I paid the higher price and forgot about it. That would turn out to be the biggest mistake I ever made!
Months later, I decided that I wanted to be a truck driver. I have been driving professionally as a chauffeur for years, and wanted to go over the road. I went to CRST got my class A and was hired on July 7th 2013. After working for CRST for a few months, and hating how I was being treated, I quit and got hired on with Prime Inc on September 13th of 2013. I loved working for that company.
Then on October 1st of 2013, my wife calls me telling me that I got a letter from the DMV that I had gotten too many points in 12 months and that unless I take a driving choose my license will be suspended for 1 month. The tickets I had gotten 13 months before and paid the higher amount to not get added, had been added to my mvr! Prime informed me that if I did not get it resolved by the 27th of October, that I would be off the truck. I could not get it fixed on time, and on the 27th I was kicked off.
I immediately started doing the safety driving course to save my license. I completed it on the 29th but it took 4 days to post to my record, and by then it was too late, and my license was suspended. Then on November 13th I received a letter from the Florida department of highway safety that I had to have proof of insurance for when my license was suspended, our it would be suspended again! Well back in September of that year, my car was repossessed, so I had no insurance for the month of October because I didn't have a car. And they suspended it again!
I have not been on a truck since. All I can get is bs jobs because the only work experience (since I was 16) I have is driving! My wife is disabled, I'm the only one who works. I've been scraping by. But with hour cuts, I'm about to lose everything I have! My license is valid, but my mvr keeps me off a truck. Is there any company out there that will hire someone with a bad mvr?! I just want to get back on a truck and start making the money I need to save my family! Please help!
Thank you for reading.Sorry it was so long, but I wanted you to know exactly what happened. Please I will be so grateful for any information you can give!
I need help to get back in a truck!

Carolina Cargo In NC I believe?
-
Like G Anthony said Carolina Cargo may hire you but keep in mind they do pay real low.Don't know if that would be enough to keep you above water but to get your MVR clear you may not have a choice.
-
If you're breathing Werner will hire you.
Clamhammer Thanks this. -
Freight wiper. Your comment about Werner is not true. You are most likely an ex Werner driver who couldn't follow the rules, operate a QualComm, or read a clock.
Driver, keep looking, if you get your history cleaned up you will find a job, Werner might be one opportunity. Good Luck. -
calm down Werner it was a joke... but kinda true lol

I'd get rid of the disabled wife but that's just me.
joseph1135, lasvegasmover and bigdogpile Thank this. -
If im not mistaken you drive for Werner. They hire pretty much anybody as long as they get thru their insurance company.Far as what happened with the op,Werner is probably one of the very few carriers that may hire him.But he still has the pay to consider and you know as well as I do for solo otr drivers Werner pays real low.But he can also try one of their dedicated accounts.
