This is probably the worse way to use your brakes.
Using the trailer brake means that you are using 40% of your braking capacity and will destroy your trailer brakes by stopping 100%of your weight.
The trailer brake is best used for protecting your unit in a slide on poor road surfaces by applying if the tractor slides and is starting to jackknife.
I need help with trailer brake.I put pictures in it

B S It's a tool, learn too use it. Just because some people are only able to master a hammer and pliers doesn't mean they are master mechanics.

I guess I'am the odd duck cause I've never called it the trolly valve ..

in my earlier years, i had worked for for a division of NAVL (north american van lines) and NONE of thier company tractors, nor any of thier former O/O tractors (which were lease to own) had trolly brake handles for that very reason..and as i recall, any o/o that signed on with thier very own tractor?
had to have the trolly handle removed, and that area "spot welded" if it was an all metal area closed up. or some sort of "glue" to cover up the area if it was a plastic area...NAVL meant business.beastr123, Keepforgettingmypassword, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this. -

I really wonder where some of these people come from. Common sense really isn’t too common anymore.

I drew the short stick and had to train this goofy #### when I was doing cement for Schlumberger. Every time I had to remind him that when you step on the pedal all 5 axles are being used. He would pull on the trolley and use the foot pedal at the same time Lol. Every ####ing time, after a while I just didn't say anything.
A few weeks into the job he hooked up to the wrong silo that was already full (they hold about 2.5 loads so you only put 2 in) and instead of stopping when the dust sock started filling up his ####### kept going. He emptied the rest of the load on the ground. We had to go clean it up and our 3rd party company was not allowed back on that company man's location. I can only assume his favorite snack as a kid was paint chipscke, Vampire, Albertaflatbed and 4 others Thank this. -
