Okay so I was working for Central Transport recently resigned from that position due to the fact that they continuously had me doing things that were pushing legal limits and not acting like they cared a bit, not to mention that they always had some kind of problem going on. Anyways not that I'm a complainer by no means. It just kind of got old driving a little over an hour to work and then to have to deal with that. Anyways what I need advice on is that I have a family that I want to spend time with so I figure that line haul jobs that get you home eveyday are the way for me to go. Can anyone give me some good advice on how to get a job like that such as a conway or ups? Maybe even some other company that I don't even know. Any and all advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Uh well, how about putting in some applications? You dont say where you are located so it might be hard for people to even guess what company might be good for you. No offense but you should have done some research before you quit, if for the only reason that you dont have a lot of experience to fall back on.

i personally have dealt with Central...you NEED to get a copy of your DAC FIRST, and see what they say about you...i can almost guarantee you, they messed you up......and if so, you want to get that crap all cleared up ASAP...or like me, the 4 months it took......

    good luck

I think every driver is looking for a job where you can be home every night. That is why it is so hard to find a local driving job. Now that you have some experience you might have a little better luck. Try Craigslist sometimes I have seen some good gigs posted from time to time. Here is another site that may also help. Just type in where you live and it will give you a list of companies hiring in your area.

Watch craigslist, even monster or local help wanted sites. You'll see them up there. Most of them require 1 year exp, but I've seen a few that want 3 months, or will even hire recent graduates......luck is a deciding factor on that.

Your DAC might be beaten after a split with one of the big guns. Make sure you check it and get it cleared up quick. (like was posted above) Good luck to you, I hope you find something good.

How much experience do you have? Is your driving record clean?

    Try www.indeed.com

it will pull offers from every site.

But I hear that knocking on doors pays off for local jobs.
