For the guys PMing me, I cannot respond yet due to lack of posts.
We are fortunate to live by a few auto plants. We are also luck to know some of the higher up guys and have the contract for some over the road contracts that are consistent. We are looking for someone local to make 3 runs a week. Basically you would start Sunday night/Monday morning and drop your 3rd load before 5pm Friday. These guys would be gone all week, but home weekends. I will do a 401K and a matching as it is something we believe in. People need to retire at some point and we are not counting the SS. Health care is expensive and has not been addressed yet. Currently, vacation would also be an issue until we get another driver. Not being in the field, getting sick as a driver does not really seem to work well together.
All of this info has been a great help. Thanks Guys!
Also, please don't PM for work. I will post on here everything needs once we get everything lined up. I never imagined there was this amount of paperwork to deal with in trucking.
I need to hire 2 drivers - what interview questions to ask?

He / she is going to represent your company. -

one more piece of advice i can give you. if you are going into the automotive industry you need to be looking for a back up, this industry is up and down and if you hire these driver's then the plant's down size or slow down and you don't have any freight then you got to lay these guy's off so unemployment insurance goes sky high. i pulled auto parts for 2 years great job till i went to plant to deliver one night and they said we are not acepting any more freight. so i called the company they said take it back to trw and unload and call us. union strikes is another animal to deal with as well. keep in mind i'm not telling you this stuff to discourage you i'm am purely being up front with you on what to expect so you can get some what of a handle on it before it hit's you in the face. i don't believe in sugar coating things then watch you fall, i as much as anyone want to see people be sucessful and the more inside stuff you know the better your chances.best of luck

Good info , as well you do not want to be the carrier thats LATE and production gets shutdown because of the parts on your truck are the ones they needed.
