Oh yeah man.....pay attention to rest areas when you run through there. You'll see the DOT ruining days. I got an inspection at the Girard scale, off 80. They found an air leak. Wrote me up for it. Got a $100 ticket in the mail some weeks later for that air leak. Ohio is not to be played with.

Okay, 1st welcome aboard, and I apologize for the wise axxes here, it's a legitimate question. 2nd, I do agree, NEVER volunteer at a weigh station, if an inspection is in order, go to a service center, and they can perform a DOT inspection, and will put a sticker on the door saying it passed. For the record, DON'T pixx off a LEO, they have a rough enough job without you giving them the finger.

Still? 30 years ago, I ran a peddle run in Ohio, and they had PUCO officers up and down the green stamp. I never went into an Ohio rest area.

I've had 6 random inspections in Ohio in the six years I have been driving, four of them at rest areas.

Oh yeah.....the only time an Ohio rest area is safe is Friday evening til Monday morning. Very rare I go into an Ohio rest area. It's been at 5 years since the last time, and I was in and out

####!! What about truck stops in Ohio? I've passed through Ohio but I don't remember staying there, I thought California was the one to watch out for... Hopefully I finish this career without any.
