Hello my name is not that important. I am starting school on Monday. Been reading the forum for awhile now, and if I have learned anything:
STAY AWAY from leasing from the company you work for!
Stay away from Chicago companies.
So, I am 28; use to sale cars until they told me I was too patriotic. Was in the military for a bit, and drove a lot of different things in my short years. Look forward to learning from the veterans, and maybe show a veteran something. (Not getting my hopes up) but drive safe and look out you got a month before I'm hammer down!
I reckon an introduction is in order.

Chinatown Thanks this. -
There are a few that might save you tho.... Like Werner might wonder why my tractor has a Loves mud flap on it when we exclusively use TA/Petro mechanical services..... Lol.Last edited: Jan 15, 2017

Where is your location?
Will you have endorsements?
What type trucking do you want?
Probably a couple dozen companies to choose from.roadrunningx18 Thanks this. -
He means the 1099 companies, but in all fairness, they employ 1000's of people.ASmallFleetDriver and username_unknown Thank this.

Western Washington, near Seattle.
Yes, on the endorsements. While taking my permit test I covered: General, Air, Comb, Doubles/Triples, Tanker. When I go back to finalize my CDL I will take the HAZMAT test. Working on my passport as well.
OTR for a few years or so, then maybe local. I have always kinda admired the lifestyle and the adventure, just always threw the idea out. My wife and I sat down one night and talked about job choices and trucking is what keeps surfacing. So I guess we will see what will happen.
I known there is a lot of companies to choice from, it is #### near confusing. Home time is really a factor considering my first 3 years of marriage was in the military. If you have some suggestions, I'd entertain what you have to say. -
I'll take my chances, I was on a farm for 13 years. I suspect I have some experience in this business just not 80k lbs. But like I said, I'm here to learn.roadrunningx18 Thanks this.
