Also i forget to mention that that is the way that the Hill assist works in this truck

The fact that you called it a gas pedal makes me believe that the dealer is right.

I have a fleet of the Volvo I Shifts in the company that I work for - those automated transmissions are more computerized than you think. They are built like a standard shift transmission but they are guided by an air system and solenoids that is controlled by and electronic module (TCM). I have 12 of them that I constantly hook to with Tech Tool and those exact codes come up on every one of mine. We hall rock and black top. The I shifts are specifically built with fuel economy in mind. If your truck came with the economy/performance package you may want to look into using your performance gear more often if you are moving from a docking port heavily loaded or on an incline. You may need more torque taking off. It could very well be driver error and I mean that in the sincerest way, I had every one of my drivers watch the video that volvo offers on the I shift (and some are 20yr vets at this company)- once they watch that video the codes still come up but the counts are extremely lower. I even had a driver admit to setting the brake while the truck was in drive. I believe that is where the Clutch system unexpected operation comes in. The transmission doesn't expect to have to stay engaged if the motor isn't rising in RPMs - so that alone confuses the computer. There are also programmable perimeters that can also help with the way that transmission and engine work together based on your type of load and terrain. I am learning myself - but the I shift is a beast if we learn how to use it properly.

Not total BS my friend and they are no means 100% bullet proof, they are lucky if they have a vest on. Yes they are a tuff ### Transmission electronically - but slipping gears is just as damaging as it would be in a standard shift transmission. The Volvo I shift is very well know for the Ribbon that is located under the top plate of the Tranny to go bad, that ribbon controls (I believe) 8 Solenoids, those 8 Solenoids are air assist (that's why that transmission has sometimes got its own air reservoir tank). The Engine, Tranny and Braking system all have their own ECU - that feeds into the main ECM. These trucks are not really just your average automatic or Standard Transmissions - They hold up to the very definition of Automated, don't be confused by not having a clutch in the floor when you drive these trucks. That Transmission operates as a standard, you just don't have a clutch in the cab to control it, its all about the weight load, Terrain and Fuel Economy with these Transmissions and D13 Engines. I have 2007 Volvo D12s with Standard shift Tyranny's, 2017 and 2018 D13's with I shift Transmissions with the Economy / Performance Package in my fleet. My Drivers, Mechanics and myself have had to learn a whole lot getting these added to our fleet. It's been hell getting through to some of the Drivers on how to deal with these I shifts.

Do the i-shift when driven act as if it not getting into gear when it does not have trailer connected to it?
