We all do things in life that others tell us are big mistakes. I know I have. But you will get back on your feet and learn a lesson that you will never forget. I pity the poor siding salesman that comes to your house someday.:biggrin_25525:

There are some that do heed the warnings. I did, and I have read a few post from a couple others that did too. Although, I do believe most do not.

CREngland always has ads on monster, careerbuilder and all others that make it sound attractive. Then you go to their website, see the cool looking truck, an read about how great it will be for you. Before you do any more research you fill out the online app, and the next day, if not sooner, a recruiter is calling you, your all excited because they accepted you, reserved your seat in school and booked your bus ticket. Now your excited, you find your way here, and start reading. Now you are in a conundrum, you're reading bad things about the company, but, you already told your family and friends, plus, your seat at shcool is reserved, bus ticket purchased, you really need to get to work and now you really want to be a truck driver and travel the usa like the video's on the website. You don't want to tell your family and friends you may have made a poor choice, so, you hope for the best. Besides, your not like the others and you can make it work. For some, not all, it is not easy to get work with a criminal record, so, better take it.
People don't go to CREngland because they are idiots. They go because of a well tought out, fully funded, and well executed marketing plan designed to get them there before they know any better.
I talked to someone who went to england. They saw the ad, went to the website, filled out the application online that evening. got a call the next morning, got accepted, scheduled and a bus ticket to leave or school in 4 days. He ad packng and all to do that he did't have time to research, got to school, leased and truck and well you know the rest of the story.

To everyone who either flunked out-- or wants to work for peanuts:

RollingThunder gave a pretty good description of Andy. I remember him, the Vietnam Vet who's been there years and years. I know him, ahh those memories. Now about the road test - so interesting to drive behind the Freightliner dealership, you turn left again, you go straight and you go right, and you pass some other company headquarters, you wave at the Walmart which clothes n feeds you, and then you truck back home. I had my CDL and experience with other companies but they want to re-train you to their standards, so you endure the filthy dorm, you overpay for food, and you are pushed - quickly - into a lease. Now, back to discussing yelling/screaming Andy...

No wonder the trainer got excited, since he didn't die in Nam, he most likely
didn't want to crash into anything he's seen a million times already. And you ARE ON A MAIN ROAD FULL OF TRAFFIC FOR SEVERAL BLOCKS . If you are staring at your instruments you are a danger to everyone. Given this Andy has one hell of a temper, I know myself, you've GOT TO LOOK AT THE ROAD!!!!

Hello , sooo could'nt help ,but stop and post this of my lil -shin dig with cr england..
So..i started with england back in 06' than quit shortly after to work for western which was a mistake tooo.. so anyways after working for western i went back to england why? cause iam retarded like that only thing matter to me was exp on the road,so i came back & leased a truck which was a 06' 379 pete 70'' sleep 204,000 miles on it 13 spd cat all the wrks.. I do have to admit i had a cool ### dm got me home when i wanted was'nt pushy at all got me the miles ...i ran solo.. i just don't trust people that much to do team or train ..anyways first few months i thought things was looking good,..''supposely '' i had money coming in and iam still waiting for it lol..i drove my ### off for that company every load was on time or early.. the on thing that messed me up was when one of the turbos went out in my truck coming down the 15 thank goodness fontana rush peterbilt was open for me which i had to wait a week for my truck and thank goodness i live only 40 mins from fontana here in riverside, So anyways that did'nt help me when i got my truck back ,BUT i rolled on and tried not to let it get me down,..months went by come dec my fan -clutch went out coming in slc right when i turned around to go back to the yard to get something heading home for ''christmas'' and get out before the big snow storm ..So they took it in had to order the parts had to wait a week cause heavy snow was blocking the roads& the door to cat , so i waited ..i try to have good faith in everything i do i mean this is my career and lifestyle i choice..after thats said in done ...iam back rolling again ..funny thing is i have no #### money !!! i have a com-data card for no reason ,i spent my last stopping at wal-mart's trying to bargin to get food (no joke) i was driving for free for the fun of it ,I had to sometimes call to have money wired to me from family ! just to eat, one night my ex had to order a pizza and had it delieved to the truck in co.springs cause england did'nt want to give me money ..also thank goodness for them loves pay back cards to ''if '' you have points too , use for subway..but anyways i would be calling in all the time to get money /cash advance they told me no ! then they told me i have to pay for tires.?? wtf !? i looked that truck over and went through everything on it. tires were $ 1800 for four back ones new so they say i ended paying from maintance account 700 to please them with used but farely new tires , and still rolling hungry ..Soo i just got tired of the bs being hungry and broke and i told my dm hey thanks for the miles but iam quiting ,SO on 02/08 i came back to the yard ,took my window tint off etc ,my truck was always clean ,i took pride in my ride ,they looked it over got everything signed off & rode with a driver back here in Ca , Now i get letters sayign i owe 15,000 and some change on the truck thats a joke to me ,in that case i want that truck parked in front of my house minus the england stickers and #### .i never respond to them ,recently they sent me letter saying we are going to give you a discount drop it down to 10,000 ,but u can make a payment of 4500 lol and i have not yet seen anything on my comdata ...All i can say is this company is good for a start up get a year as ''company'' maybe less under your belt and don't even go to there school and get caught in there loan ####.. i came with a license ,CR ENGLAND ARE CROOKS ,RUN !! or you will be broke & hungry !!

    Mrs. Fuzzy,
Your post does a lot to confirm CR England's road tester "Andy the vet" as a wacko. You confirm that he has a helluva temper, and most of us have been around and lived long enough to have observed that an angry man is not rational or reasonable or truthful, so with your additional input you make the case that Andy over-reacts into anger. And so I think it would follow that Andy is not anyone I would consider to be a good judge of anything in this life, not even whether or not a driver was looking at his guages enough or not enough. We don't know if the driver was spending too much attention on his guages, because we weren't there, so that case hasn't been made, though I understand that you are making that assumption based on Andy's reactions. Andy has an anger management problem, according to the driver being road tested and according to you. You admit that Andy has a one hell of a temper, yet then you appear to make the assumption that Andy has good judgement (in this case, regarding how much time to spend looking at guages). You say "No wonder the trainer got excited", as if Andy might be someone with normal judgement and excitability, but you said "Given this Andy has one hell of a temper, I know myself,", which together with the test driver's post, leads me to conclude that Andy is what I like to call "a screamer". I have never known a screamer that had good rational judgement. Screamers go through life with all kinds of problems. Screamers are not my heroes, and I would never trust a screamer's judgment as to how much to look at guages, or how to drive safely. I don't trust a screamers judgement or ethics on anything. I think the test drives would be far more safely conducted with a reasonable rational person in the jump seat, instead of a screamer. A screamer could actually cause a timid person to have an accident. As an aside, I observed a screaming bank teller boss to cause my teller to mistakenly give me $100 too much in my withdrawal. The screaming teller boss was so busy screaming at all of about 4 drive up tellers, that I had to wait a bit to get my chance to speak. I tried to tactfully explain the problem with an opening remark of "There's an error in the amount of money here", but the screamer immediately cut me off and screamed that they don't make mistakes in that bank!" I said "Fine", and went on my way. Later, of course, I got a call from a cooler head at the bank who was asking that I return the money. I placed a condition on this, that I be given 5 minutes with the bank manager, where I explained that I don't care to bank with people that hire screamers because they cause accidents, they don't prevent them. It's not the way professional competent people behave. Well this post is getting too long, but I am just saying that it strikes my attention that you confirm Andy as a hothead and then assume Andy has good judgement on anything. I've read enough on these CR England posts to understand and believe that England is basically a 3 ring circus with low morale and the crudest of support people. I sensed this about 14 years ago when I went to their SLC headquarters to meet their people and check them out; I didn't like what I saw to put it mildly. So I declined their offer of employ and went to work for Knight instead (which turned out to be another typical high turnover carrier). I'm just sayin'.

I'm sorry that Andy and guys like him may cause some folks to think negatively about veterans, and Vietnam vets. I believe that most vets came home to live lives as good hard working and rational and reasonable people. To all you vets, thank you for your service. Additionally, to you Vietnam vets, welcome home. May God bless.

I am a Phase 2 upgrade. I am currently in Salt Lake City, UT. This Instructor Andy; Well Im not sure who he is but i am interested to find out if he is still here. i agree with what your saying but only to a point. I was fortionate to do my training at Burns Harbor, IN. They have great instructors there; here i was put through the upgrade which included a road and backing eval again. I had a great instructor again though i failed my first driving test and past my first backing test. this is becuase i was already use to driving a newer truck for a month. this truck was needing to shift at a higher RPM then i was use to. made for a more dificult but not impossible time. over all i think you gave up to fast on this industry. also you mention being home nightly well im shooting for a local trucking job later in my future plans but if i need to deal with a lil pain along the way; well thats life (NO PAIN- NO GAIN). the only problem i see about cr england is leasing a truck. but only if ur not sure about what u need to do. if u have experiece ur fine. that is why company is my way of thought. im not saying cr england is great im not saying cr england is bad im saying out of everything in this: (CR ENGLAND IS WILLING TO OFFER A WAY INTO THIS INDUSTRY UNDER THE TERMS THEY SET. SO EITHER TAKE THE OFFER AS IT IS AND WORK TOWARD A BETTER COMPANY OR LET GO OF IT)

I was all set to go to CRE in SLC this upcoming monday. Then I stumbled across this thread and a few others speaking the horrors of CRE. I decided to cancel my plans. Im a little dissapointed by only taking peoples advice via internet, but virtually EVERYTHING about this company is negative! Thanks I guess....
