  7. I ran into a trucker the other day told me how dumb I was for not following instructions, it was like 5 big boards ... you must do this, you must do that.. like natzie BS... and this guy pointed out how dumb I was it clearly sayss... I just cut him off and congratulated him on how abiding his is and walked away. Apparently the reason I'm such a looser I can't follow the thousands of rules everywhere I go and more and more come out.

Also more and more useless stupid crap to do of-course without pay. I read in one of the replies telling me what I looser I am at Schnier that he is making tripple per hour what I am, I guess I am dumb because if I add the free time waiting, then chasing trailers, not getting paid in dock, finding the person I need, working out the drop numbers and all the other non driving crap they don't pay for, I can't see how someone is making 300% more then me per hour. I guess I am dumb and a loser if they are true, but maybe all of them are wrong. Time will tell.

In future replies I'll post some of the BS they have me do when the night shift comes on then changes the NAT and ETA and sends a stupid message not looking at the BS Government hours left, just change it willy nilly, cant wait to see what the kiss ### pumpkin lovers will acuse me of then.

From what I'm reading here if you are a company driver and they make you do dozens of things for free you are in a big hole compared to your bosses exploiting you, because they get a nice pay for every hour worked and you take the risk and don't get paid more then often, so leaving Schneider is not the solution from what I see I'll get the same bs elsewhere.

I guess I'm just disappointed in this exploitation of new drivers and the most i'm upset about is all the work that is not compensated for the 90% no touch freight is for morons like me be cause you have to be a moron to get it, I see like 30% no touch freight 2 out of 3 is running around trying to get people to load you on average loosing 3 hours for load/unload and that makes me mad! Or like someone wrote here, I should be a good little dog and not say what I see so I can get some crummies from my DBL and because I point out the real world problems I deserve to get punished it's almost like the truckers here enjoy telling others truckers to be good little dogs and shut up and put up! Well I will not, I'm the one hauling the DBL's should do that and I should pick and chose who I haul for but because truckers are backstabers we are slaves to DBL who make a fortune and haul nothing and I work 70 hours per week for 300 dollars. Thanks truckers!

I wish you people had some guts to speak up if all did we would get a fair pay not crapy pay like most do, and I talk to tons of truckers no one is not one is getting what DBL's get! NO ONE! I mean per hour my DBL works 40 I word double and make 500% less. Now I can't wait to read your comment how you will twist this statement in favor of your love for DBL's and hate of truckers like me. Go for it!

For some reason the OP's overall tone and attitude remind me of a fellow I met at a Swift terminal a few months ago. He'd been running solo for about 6 months and proudly declared, "I showed 'em! Told 'em I wouldn't go anywhere east of the Mississippi! They tried to dispatch me east of the Mississippi and I refused!"

Then in the next breath he was complaining about how he wasn't getting any miles. I asked how many miles he was averaging per week.... about 1500.... ????

I've been running solo with Swift for 5 months now, averaging about 2500 with some weeks a tad over 3000. I'll go anywhere and rarely refuse a load. I also came back into trucking with a healthy perspective of the difficulties of the jobs "outside the cab". They aren't easy.

To sum up, I think reading between the lines of the OP's posts there might be some difficulties that are now entrenched in his relationship with his "DBL" (not sure what that is in "Schneider Speak") and I think a chunk of the responsibility for that might rest in how he has approached his communication from day one. Just a guess, but I think having a broader view of how customers are served, how the company workflow functions, and having a little courtesy and positive attitude can go a HUGE way toward creating a profitable situation.

Like that Swift guy that was so proud of complaining about and refusing to haul loads to the East, perhaps OP has also "taken a stand" in a way that has pegged him as a "problem" driver that they don't trust to handle loads for critical customers. That leaves him with loads at the bottom of the barrel on their load board, not the place you want to be.

This isn't to take a Pollyanna view of the situation. Folks get into this industry with expectations that aren't being met and that's frustrating. Companies continue to do what they do because there's a continuous fresh crop of drivers to resupply their needs.

Might be time to have a heart to heart with your DBL, if you are at all inclined to try to be successful at Schneider. When I was assigned my permanent DM (Swift speak) I saw a drop in miles for the first couple of weeks, had a good chat with him and let him know I wanted to max out my miles and I've had good running since then.

The number one reason for drivers to quit a job is a poor relationship with their DM/DBL/dispatcher. The responsibility for that relationship goes both ways.

  10. You people are missing the entire point here. The DBL gets paid for what he does the hours he does. I do like half the work free of charge doesn't matter what DBL i get it's the same crap at schneider, a few days ago I spent all day trying to get a trailer the DBL wouldn't aprove the pay for it said one of them was availble I just didn't talk to the right person and it's posible it's there but every time I get to a loaded trailer that suppose to be empty i have to go on hold for an hour, how are you paid for that hour? I'm not at shchnider that's my problem what I'm some animal that has to work for free? is that it???

My question is why can they get paid to do work and I have to work for free??? that's what I'm saying I just want to get paid for the work I do, nothing else nothing more, I get all the dam loads for them they make like 500 dollars profit and I get 70 sometimes takes 2 days to get the 70 dollars but out of that 500 dollars the Schneider parasites like my DBL gets tons more sitting on his behind. Now tell me Im not telling the truth maybe Im' just dumb. How is this fair ????
