Who's your fleet manager? I've been in LTL for around 6 months and while thats great and the money is great Im seriously thinking about going back to truckload. I love the open road and my wife told me that if i went back to truckload she would go with me.

After 5 nights in my own bed I am back on the road. Finished off a load from Chattanooga to Jonesboro, AR. Now camped at a customer in Paragould, AR and will run that to Knoxville tomorrow with a stop at the Nashville terminal to take a safety class. Gotta pile up those safety points. -
Hey man, where you stay at last night? You got to Anchor in paragould? -
Didn't get to go to the safety class in Nashville today, and it looks like I will miss the one in Knoxville tomorrow. I hope I have a load before then anyway. Good news is the shop is going to replace my radio while I am here. Will be happy to have the aux jack for my Sirius/XM. Finding empty FM frequencies can be difficult in some areas. -
Well hell man i was off last night if I knew you were in town I would have picked you up and grab some food and talk about random stuff haha.

I had an vampire shift run from Wytheville, VA to Stone Mountain, GA. The powers that be must know I enjoy night driving. They gave me an LTL load from Norcross to Nashville. Then I pick up a load in Lebanon, TN and take that home for a short weekend in Chattanooga. Will have to leave out around 11 pm on Sunday night to deliver by 6 am in Independence, VA.
One thing I will say about Averitt...I hardly ever have to wait for my next load. As soon as I hit my empty message I get a new load or they have me dispatched on one before I finish my delivery on my current load.
Here's hoping they finish loading my Nashville bound trailer a bit early so I can get moving. I'd love to be home by early morning. The Challenger Thanks this. -
Last night I done my normal Jonesboro - Nashville - Memphis - Jonesboro run last night. I basically raced a roadway truck with doubles for most of the trip going down 40.

Well, this weekend was a short one (36 hours) but a good one for sure. Finished my load to Independence, VA then got another overnight run from Wytheville, VA to Chattanooga that I will deliver in the morning. I've talked to several drivers who seem to be getting short miles (900-1200 a week) but thankfully I haven't had that yet. My average is right at 2000 a week thus far. I will keep moving as long as they keep me under loads that is for sure.
I talked to another former Swifty who is now driving for Averitt and he absolutely loves it. I can't get over the number of drivers I talk to who have been here 5, 7, 10 years etc. I love that stability and the fact that they still like it. Rare in the trucking industry for sure. The Challenger Thanks this. -
This week ended strong with a run from Chattanooga to Greenville, TX. Then two loads to get me home. Arlington, TX to Jackson, MS and pick up at your Jackson yard home to Chattanooga. 2400 miles this week. I was so tired last night I ended up sleeping 9.5 hours. I cannot remember the last time I slept that long.
Camped out in Meridian, MS and should get home around 2pm tomorrow afternoon.
I would be interested in hearing from other newer Averitt drivers. How is your experience going? -
Monday was no fun. I had to undergo two root canals so I didn't get out until Tuesday. Delivered a local from the yard and then went back to the yard and took a four stop load to Richmond, VA. At stop 2 right now and hope they have a decent load for me when I get done at stop 4. Am looking at Wed afternoon and just over 540 miles. Due to the way the week started I may end up with my least amount of weekly miles yet but we shall see. At least I got my dental nightmare taken care of.
The Challenger Thanks this.
