That is rough! Glad it wasn't your tractor, Mustang.
I had a long weekend at home. I had dentist and oncologist appointments yesterday so my "home" trip was to finish off a local delivery this morning. I did so, then got back to the Chattanooga yard to await a dispatch. I ended up getting a soft drink load from Chattanooga with a 7pm pick up and delivers tomorrow evening at 6pm in Charlotte. So I'll be looking at 322 miles on Wednesday night. UGH. Had to get the medical stuff done though. This may be my 900-1200 mile week at Averitt. I am hoping for a nice long run out of Charlotte to help with the cause. -
Got unloaded early in Charlotte then was given a load picking up Thursday at noon near Winston-Salem headed to Lebanon, TN. It delivers tomorrow evening. So, I am parked at a mom n pop truck stop about 50 miles from my pick up. I sure do miss my fleet manager. He is doing cook outs at several terminals this week. The person watching our board doesn't communicate much at all. I know they are swamped but even the simple questions take an hour to get an answer via the qualcomm.

Does anyone know the age requirement for Averitt? I am looking for a new job, currently driving for Prime Inc. I really want to do flatbed and live close to Augusta, GA any other information would be great.

This week has been a hoot. Will end up with 1800 miles on two loads. I had a four stop furniture load from Dayton, TN to WV and 3 stops in PA. Ended up having to help unload at a hotel construction site. My FM got me unload pay with no problem. I would have had to fight for that at Swift. No problems getting what is owed me here. I like that a bunch.
Now I am picking up in Lock Haven, PA with a load headed home for the weekend then I will finish it off on Monday to Indianola, MS.
Is it really August already? My first year with Averitt is flying by. Still enjoy it every day. I have times of frustration but it is never as bad as my previous experience. Gotta love that. -
I wrote to Averitt about schools they approve of. They have three approved schools in my area and have a special hiring class called student drivers for new grads. Newbies spend 5 weeks with an Averitt trainer before going solo. I am making Averitt my first choice company now and will select one of the school they recommend to set myself up for hiring.
