Like you i had a bad expierance at another company. while i was out on the road then i got to talk to some averitt drivers and they all seemed to like it. at that time they were not hiring at all. I was thrilled when i learned they were offering a refresher.

My Volvo didn't have the accessory plug but the shop gladly changed it out for me. My Freightliner had it.
The inverter is awesome. I run a fridge and microwave. Save a ton of money eating out of the truck. -
I actually have an interview tomorrow at the Montgomery terminal, hoping to jump on board this will be my first driving job. Averitt has really worked with me verifying my military driving experience and trying to get me into the refresher course. I really am looking forward to this!
MUSTANGGT Thanks this. -

I really don't know what TL (truckload) accounts are in that area aside from Standard Textile.
I got called just a few minutes after interview but don't know if it's still that quick.SPC WHIGHAM Thanks this. -

Congrats Whigwam. With a military background you are a great fit for Averitt. It is a dream first driving job for sure. Thanks for your service, btw.
Made it from Houston to Montgomery, dropped my trailer and the driver picking it up was right next to the spot I backed into. Gave him his paperwork, pulled out and let him have at it. I have a load I am relaying from here to the Fulton yard in Atlanta in the morning. The trailer isn't here yet but hopefully after I get my beauty sleep it will be here. Then I grab an empty and head home to Chattanooga for the weekend. Monday I'll be finishing off a load headed to Chicago. It's a huge electronics store. Delivery isn't until Tuesday morning but I'll have plenty of room for to park so I'll get there Monday night and have a fresh clock to run on after I get unloaded on Tuesday.
This week I will end up with 2550 miles when I get to Chattanooga. Last two weeks were just over 2400.
One of my buddies was at the cookout at the Knoxville yard this week and Gary Sasser was there. He told the people there that last month was the worst month for freight in Averitt history. I am hoping we don't see a dry up like we did in 2009 nationwide. Apparently freight is looking UP for the next couple of months for Averitt however. That was good news to hear.
Have a great weekend and drive safe.SPC WHIGHAM Thanks this. -
Thanks man! I just hate playing the waiting game but I know its well worth it. Havent heard whigwam since 2007 lol
