I hope that goes well. Please keep us up to date.
This week started out with an 858 mile load into Illinois with 3 stops. Then after my delivery on Tuesday afternoon in Macomb IL they had nothing for me. Ended up sitting for right at 24 hours and then got a load assignment picking up 68 miles away in Pekin IL the next day at 1400 headed to the Memphis yard. REALLY? LOL I knew from previous experience that the customer will load you if you show up early so I headed there last night and got loaded first thing this morning. Now after a much needed shower I am in the condo for the night. Hoping they get me something in the morning to maybe save this week. I'll be fortunate to get 1700 miles this week.
Also, got a message on the tattle tale yesterday that Averitt may be getting a huge concert tour and are looking for a couple dozen drivers willing to go out for a few months including some Canada driving. Must have previous entertainment transport experience. That would have been interesting to try, but I think I'll stick with my weekends home. I miss my wife and grandson too much to be gone that long.

I finally got out of orientation today, woooooohoooooo. Going to my SC in the am for a meet and greet. Gotta ride with another flatbedder next week. Been flatbedding since '99, but I understand there policies over here. So I'm counting down the days til next Friday to get issued my own truck. I'm thinking I did make the right decision by making the move over here. Only time will tell.
Woopigsooie Thanks this. -
I just finished orientation today. I was very impressed by the whole process and feel I made the rite choice with Averitt, I am just waiting on a call from my fleet manager tomorrow or monday to find out where to P/U my truck and I will be on my way. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here (especially Bigmike) for all of the useful post, it was because of this thread that I chose Averitt.
bigmikectn and Woopigsooie Thank this. -
Congrats to both of you for finishing orientation and welcome to Averitt! I am excited for you, and glad that this thread my have helped in some small way.
Well, my travel agent saved my week. Got a daytime LTL from Memphis to Dallas, then a pick up at our yard in West Monroe, LA to take home for the weekend. I was sitting at around 1300 miles and will finish up with more like 2500 when I get home tomorrow night. Now my worry is next week. LOL. I don't go out until Tuesday evening and that's finishing off a 117 mile run to Kroger in Atlanta. They are notorious for taking four hours or more to unload you. I'll be sitting on just over 100 miles on Wednesday if they don't follow that up with an LTL or something. Such is life in a truck I suppose.
Have a great weekend!ryan7659 Thanks this. -

Thank you -
Well I received a job offer for another LTL company running team shuttle to California and back... Sounds like something I'd enjoy doing. I'll keep you updated.
