I have been thinking about them a little right now, and I am wondering about something that I read on their web site, something about not to worry about our cars being parked on the property. Plenty of security. This to me sounds like we do not bring our trucks home with us. I live about 28 miles from downtown Columus, OH, so I gues that I would be out of that terminal. Also according to the site, I would run regional outta there, Midwest, south and southeast, or maybe it was southwest. One other question, do you have to take the weekend off. Can you take your days off during the middle of the week after staying out lets say about 18 days. Wonder what the miles are like if stay out just a little over 2 weeks.
-
Normally you can stay out max of 2 weeks. You don't get to keep your truck at the house so you drive to the terminal your stationed at and leave from there. You get home normally depends on when you leave out. If you leave out sunday your normally home thursday night friday morning. Really depends on the load.

I have talked to drivers who stay out more than 14 days at a time and work with their fleet manager to arrange weekday home time but I would guess it would depend on forming that relationship with your fleet manager. Yes, you will have to park your truck at the Columbus yard and drive your personal vehicle home. I live about 30 miles from the Chattanooga Service Center. I don't mind it one bit because I never fret about how my truck is doing and the load I may have brought home for the weekend and then will finish off after my weekend home. It's safe at the Averitt facility. I hope it works out for you man. Keep us in the loop.
Had a nice weekend with the fam and then headed out to finish off a load to Atlanta today. When I arrived at the customer it looked like an Averitt family reunion. About four of our trucks either being unloaded or waiting to be. I got to talking to the guy in the truck next to me. About 10 minutes into the conversation he realizes that I am the goofy guy from this thread and then he lets me know that he is the one and only JBS TRUCKER. We had a really cool visit and it was a pleasure to get to meet him.
Then after unload I went over to fetch my next load headed to Nashville. A nice quick drop and hook. How nice, right? Then as I start driving toward Nashville thinking I'll be there in no time, I come to the realization it's 5pm in Atlanta and it's raining like crazy. Two and a half hours later I am finally doing the speed limit on I-75 North and still 200 miles from Nashville. What a day.
Finally got to the Nashville yard and I'm going to get some sleep. Hope your week goes well and you get many miles.raetnrunner Thanks this. -
Hey guys list all the stuff I should have when I get the truck to make my life easier on the road. I have a few items already (Cobra GPS, Cobra CB, Bedding, Fridge, Microwave, and TV/DVD combo) Figured I could use a good map but what else would you suggest?
Oh we had a meeting yesterday and apparently International is giving Averitt a 60,000 credit if they return all of the single axle internationals they bought because they are crap. They are buying new International prostar to replace the old single axle's. I love that because I love the prostar. -
