Ouch? I suppose you could take pictures of the ECM bolts for signs of "tampering"...
I'm not sure how you can prove it was the shop .and not you. that switched it out....
Not saying you did. but to take this anywhere I think that is something you would need.
I suspect my company swapped engines. Is it possible?

Honestly I think the more probable explaination is, if anything, they took the ECM. Its probably a 40 hour job minimum to swap an engine. And why would they take your engine? Makes no sense.
Call Volvo dealer with your VIN and get the build sheet w/serial numbers. Check and see that they match.mhyn, Tb0n3 and Forever237 Thank this. -
Thank you all good fellas for sharing ur advice. I want to stress out I have nothing against Russian people, lots of em are good down to earth people.
Rideandrepair and skellr Thank this. -
You might not tell by looking at it but the parameters would be different even the the trucks are similar. I think there would be traces in the computer and also if it was unplugged and plugged and when. -
We have a pretty good community of russians with lets say a less than stellar reputation.
Two of them bought some shops that I had one rented at, not long after I had some health issues that kept me from working. I got close to two years behind on rent. these guys treated me right, much better than I had any right to be treated. I have moved out of that shop, but am still paying them. I have 6 more days left on my health card, and no guarantee that I will get it renewed, but should be able to get them payed off with my last settlement.
Anyway, not all Russians are bad.mhyn and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
If they just straight up swapped the ECM, the VIN on the main screen in PTT wouldn't match.
And if they copied everything from yours and flashed it to another ECM, the idle time and all should match the way you left it. They could have unhooked the speed sensor and drove it.
Or it's possible they drove it and then reset the odometer to what it was before. That being the case, I'd thing Volvo central systems would have a record of that. I'm pretty sure PTT has to phone home before making any program changes. Then again... nothing is unhackable. They may have a way to do it.mhyn and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
