If you are that concerned about the drug testing, do us all a favor and stay out of a truck. Don't risk your life or any of ours by getting behind the wheel of an 80,000 lb. truck if you are going to be in any way impaired.

if you are unsure, go get a private test done now. If you were a cronic smoker you would be supprised how long it can actually stay in your system.

 

LOL sounds like you already know whats going to happen. The companies read these boards you know? It wont take that much guess work for them to figure out whom you are.

Personally I would have kept my mouth shut about your old man having been there for 31 years or what ever. I seriously doubt they have that many employees with that much history.

As to the company? As a employer myself (thankfuly not trucking), I would probably pass on your hiring.

The way I see it is this. You have had past use. Known problems of using, the person cant tell the truth while using it. Not to say you are not being forthright about yourself now. But the problem is this. The company is responsible with loads worth say $50,000. They are going to send a driver down the road and expect that said driver to get it there. Driving is a serious mental challenge. Users of marijuana usually turned to marijuana to get relief from the stress of life.

So the question is to the company. Why would they want to hire some one whom has stated use of product. The use of marijuana means that you needed a escape for what ever reason. What is to stop you from accepting a joint or the fact you could not leave the party at first smell.

Let me dispell some of the myths surrounding drug test and pot.

As a non user, you would show clean after 5-7 days. If you smoked ONE joint. Without the use of a detox agent.

Simply being in the room, would show a toxin level BELOW accepted medical standards for a positive. IE You get a negative test.

However, some companies view ANY level to be a positive.

If you piss hot....you were smoking during that party.

Moderate users -- Once or twice a month clean up within 10-21 days.

Heavy Users -- clean up in 30-45 days.

Hair strand -- yer screwed for up to 6 months.

 

There was a fellow in my class that had not used in 7 years. CR England failed him. So if 7 years isnt enough to detox what is?
