Thanks alot. Was just a little worried since the DMV has my 3 month card on file and this new medical card is saying I have never been denied or received a card less than 2 years.

I'll just hand the dmv clerk my 2 year medical card and not say anything like you did. Thanks again!

This is also good reason to argue why you should only go to a medical doctor. Not a chiropractor. Two different fields same objective.

Like calling a frameless dump to haul 8 brand new Lamborghinis to a car dealer for cheap pay.

You get what you pay for.

Yeah I've learned my lesson. The bright side was that it was only $40. The other chiropractor wanted $105!

First time I went in for my DOT physical I was sweating bullets over the hearing test because I have serious hearing loss from the USAF.

I go in and they check my blood pressure and its like 150 over something, REALLY high. Now i KNOW what my normal BP is and it's usally on the LOW side of normal. 110/70 or so. So I tell the nurse about the hearing thing. They do all the stuff, come back and tell me I passed the hearing test with flying colors. They wait 15 minutes, come back and check my blood pressure and it's 120/80.

BP is a highly variable thing. If you get a 150/ANYTHING you need to be checking it more regularly. If that's a consistent number, you need to address it STAT. But a lot of times it can be high due to stress, what you had for dinner last night, how much sleep you got, etc. ONCE measures NOTHING. BP is supposed to be monitored over time.

GET PHYSICAL- I suffered from "white coat" syndrome Which is just about Impossible to overcome "Its a mental disorder" So to overcome that- What I do every time I go to the Doctor or get my 2 year card is simply this-

No Coffee-No cigs for 48 hours- Exercise My ### off- Sweat out all the salts n sugars- Drink Water like crazy- I think About what I'd like to do to Nurses sexually (Fetish)

And Wholla- My readings get TOO low- 102 over 70 or 99 over 68
Is it too low?..Not according to the Nurse.

Im deaf. For the first 20 years after I started trucking I relied on Qualitone hearing aids until they finally went bust. It's a little wonder since the #### things were 1500 to 2200 for a pair in them days. I wear digital aids now and I can hear stuff I never heard before in my life with them things. Two problems. One is a doctors prescription to halt the medical Obamacare device tax at 3200 dollars purchasing and the battery consumption has decreased from 4 weeks on zinc air to around 4 days 24/7 in trucking.

I kept a current hearing chart from either Maryland Hearing Aid Service who worked with me all my life and then with a Arkansas Audiologist who was just every bit his equal. Every 3 months I got a new chart and the hearing aids will be programmed to 500 hertz, 1000 and 2000 hertz as required by DOT for tests and then returned to standard equalized performance based on my actual hearing profile which stops at 6500 hertz. People can hear higher frequency than that it is what it is.

I have had bosses in the past show discrimination. Several of them I will explain and teach about the deaf culture and the hearing culture and why I do trucking well the way I do. Otherwise they set themselves up for a golden ticket suit for ADA if they showed aggressive discrimination. Some did. It is what it is.

I should have followed through on one, it would have been a life time payout of a multi million resulting in buying a thousand trucks and hiring people to run em out there just for joy of being a good boss.

A very long time ago in the late 60's we were inside Aberdeen Miliary Installation in time of War at vietnam. There was a Officer of Artillery wearing Hearing Aids in uniform of active combat service in our room at one time. I was 7 when I said hello to him and asked him do deaf people serve? He said no. But once in a while veterans get help and sometimes very lucky to be allowed to stay in with aids.

I never forgot him. I was just a kid. But it is what it is.

So you can hear fine with the hearing aid? You have no problem passing the hearing test of the DOT physical?

It’s possible because there are places where anybody can pass a DOT physical. It’s just all about knowing the right person. I’ve seen guys at truck stops on oxygen. Apparently they were passing a physical.
