You might want to spend some more time as a company driver before you buy a truck. Use that time to ask questions of other O/Os and to learn what you really need in a truck.
There aren't any cheap mistakes when you buy your own. Your choices and decisions can bury you. Learn more before you start buying.

    USCargo Thanks this.

Get ecm download on whichever your interested in and buy the one with less emission problems.. overall dd15 has been more reliable than Cummins but that means nothing .. The ecm history will show the problem trucks

I bought a 2006 9400 international. I bought it in 2010 it had 450k mi on it. I’m still driving it today. It was on old PTL truck. I now have 1.2 million on it.

Go to the dealership Give a salesman or a shop tech the engine and hp tq you're going to be running Theyll steer you in the right direction Theres a lot of variations to picking it Best to seek real advice not from these "super truckers" you'll find on here

Buying used now a days, stay clear of ex-fleet trucks. Many do absolute minimum scheduled maintenance with extreme oil change intervals. Some fleets are good about it, but you'll have to research that.
Don't get a truck that was repo'd, previous owner didn't have the money to keep up on maintenance. I have personal experience on that one.

Buying new or used is like rolling the dice. Look at your current situation. If your not going to stay in trucking more than 5 years. Used truck might be an option.
