they ask me if I have Rack certification what the heck is that and they wanted me have 1-2 years experience hauling fuel. Which company can I go to get experience so can then apply again for this night fuel hauler position. He said it like this are you currently carded or loading at any of the racks in your area what does that mean for fuel hauling and how to get leg up in this industry. Looking for company that hires me with no experience in south Texas just got my hazmat everyone making it hard for me to work anywhere the heck.

austinmike, tscottme and Jamie01 Thank this.

Carded at the rack means you have completed supervised operations at the loading rack and are able to dri e in to the location & get loaded.

It takes days or weeks of supervised work to get carded. A card at one location does not count at a different location.

You are not carded & you don't have experience in tanker or fuel. You aren't qualified for the job in this thread. If you cheat your way into this job you will be fired on day number 1. In the first 5 minutes at the loading rack you will screw up & shut the rack down.

Seriously, if you **just got** your license, absolutely nobody is gonna hire you to haul fuel. You get THOSE jobs after several years of safe driving under your belt. Dry van freight haulers are the ones willing to risk their equipment on new drivers (and they lose the bet on quite a few of them...), so go work for one of those at least long enough to get on with a BETTER company, and then (maybe after 5 years), you could get a job hauling fuel.

I'm sure Chinatown can post link to all the "likely companies" who hire newbies. I guarantee you NONE of them are fuel haulers.

    There is no work around.
You’re either carded, or you’re not.
Each rack has an access card you need to enter and load.
Right now, you’ll have a hard time getting into tankers with zero experience.
Very few openings and ample experienced drivers applying.
