Mobile is a blue-collar town...& regardless of the type of trucking you may be interested in....it's a better than average place to look.
Because of its strong blue-collar economy -- Mobile offers a lot in both the tanker & flatbed worlds, as well.
So...in truth....you can "play the field" in the CDL world as your experience level progresses. But this of course assumes that you're in fact a good driver -- & as time goes by....you maintain a good safety record.
Contrary to popular belief -- not everyone is really cut out to be a driver for the big rigs.

I wanna give it another shot.....

I recommend that you stay out of the teaming world -- at least until you are comfortable with driving solo, first.
Swift Transportation has a terminal right next to you -- over in Irvington, AL ...& is hiring rookies:
Swift Transportation Mobile, AL Terminal
Swift routinely hires & trains rookies...to become professional drivers.
Having a nearby terminal will give you a super convenient place to park your rig during hometime -- & takes that responsibility totally off your shoulders.
Swift has a vast network of terminals & dropyards -- so finding overnite parking as a rookie will be MUCH EASIER for you.

FullMetalJacket and tscottme Thank this. -
Suggestion: for you -- & where you are...Swift will be tough to beat.
Spend a couple of years pulling dry van with them, after you finish whatever refresher training they give you...& then do something different if you want.
Get all of the relevant CDL endorsements (if you don't already have them: tanker, hazmat...& doubles/triples) -- without them, you will leave A LOT OF MONEY on the table.

I may have to wait at least 90 days. I wasn't planning on driving professionally again and I was taking CBD until last month. Then I found out that in Alabama almost all the OTC CBD has Delta 8 so I have to wait out the hair follicle test
FullMetalJacket Thanks this. -
I was wondering if I was just straight up with them about the hair follicle test if they might give me a pass.... I'm totally clean, I was taking CBD because I refuse to take pain meds....

Yeah...all worthwhile carriers test/look for that stuff.
A positive test result is pretty much a career cooker.
You may have to wait longer than 90 days: verify that -- before you take a CDL carrier's drug test.

Yeah I figured....I can piss clean all day.... Just hate the system.... I appreciate your input
-
I'm going to get one done out of pocket each month until I know I can pass
FullMetalJacket Thanks this. -
Know you can go clean -- then go trucking.
Then...be sure to STAY clean.
Random drug testing is the norm.
