Well telling us where you are located, We all can answer the questions, The professionals of this forum are busy making a living and may not have the time to be a full fledged "mentor" That is what trainers are paid for, I highly suggest that you read up on here and then ask the questions on the open forum. Thanks Good Luck!

Luvtotruck is right.
Look back in the older posts and read up! When you uave questions, ask and you will get help.
Remember, hours of service requirements have changed, so the older threads are not accurate on that subject.
Welcome to the forum.luvtotruck, Skydivedavec and SheepDog Thank this. -
Best thing would be to get your cdl an get on with someone. You will team with a driver trainer, if he is good he can mentor you. Otherwise talk to your company and they can put you in touch with someone to help you along.A lot of what we can tell you wont make a lot of sense until you are in the seat. Not saying your dumb, just that you can understand and put to use the advice if you are behind the wheel.
SheepDog, bergy and luvtotruck Thank this. -
Be careful now OP, some of these Ol`boys will lure you into that PB to "mentor" you, not in driving!

So, you're 23.
I wonder how committed you'll be when you realize that you will have basically no social life as a trucker.
You will be all alone for hours, days and weeks at a time.
That is the main reason so many young drivers wash out.
So used to that constant texting and talking, visiting friends when you want, going out for a binge on the weekend, dating...
All that will be a thing of the past.
There is a good reason that the average age for a truck driver these days is 55 years old.
It's because we are more willing to be alone, and still be happy. -
Hey OP, how about you fill us all in on your plans, your dreams, your history, and your current life?
Skydivedavec and pattyj Thank this. -
well if you must know i know thats part of the commitment you make when trucking. i already travel alot as is. I dont party or anything like that i played college football im kinda over the "FUN" im in it to make a living just like the rest of you.
Skydivedavec, pattyj, 281ric and 2 others Thank this. -
