I want to be a truck driver but a few questions?

    1. Is Swift Driver training a good one to pick or is CR England better, or is there a better one? I'm inexperienced and would like a company that would help me get my CDL.

    2. I'm an online college student and I can study anywhere. With wifi and on my breaks when I am done driving, do you think its feasible to do afew online courses via WEB from your truck?

    3. How good are job prospects? Is this a career field where with a good record shouldn't have a problem finding a local route within a few years. I know I will probably have to start out as OTR driver.

    What a can of worms ! I ain't going there.......yet.
    Not a problem. I know several drivers that have done it.

    Prospects are good at the moment. Not as good as in the past. But, it will continue to improve as the economy improves.

    Local routes.... depends on what kind of money you're looking for. And who you drive for determines that.

    Why invest time and energy in becoming a truck driver if you are going to college to do something else?

    Well, I started college, so I might as well finish it too...my degree is business admin so it won't hurt my career as a trucker..

    I think you should go with Swift...I heard England forces or pushes you to sign a lease.
