Right, some drivers start this new career at 75 or 80 years old. All is needed is to pass a simple physical and drug test.

Yes, some have. Drivers have posted about students in their cdl class that were 80 yrs. old. Said they were as agile and alert as the young students.
Those older students are blessed with good genes.

Not even close to too being too old.

I took early retirement at 47, sold my properties, put my stuff in storage & went all in to mega for training. Planned to only run OTR 1yr to meet training obligation, but wound up staying & instructing for 5yrs before I bought my own truck/trailer & went out on my own leased on to a small carrier. Been 10yrs full time on road in all now.

Aside from miserable market of late, you can definately do it. Hell, I've trained guys in their mid 60's just starting their 2nd/3rd careers.

Interesting you are coming from entertainment. My first intentions coming into trucking were to go touring or film production.

Good luck on whatever you decide. Your in the right place for info. This site the start & life changing for me 10yrs ago.

That video isn't a true reflection of CR England. Established teams do well there. CR England should try to get that video banned from YouTube for being fake information.

I once knew a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the USMC. He was in his late 50's. Started a trucking career with Schneider. He loved the job. Of course with his military pension, the low pay wasn't an issue. He even said he didn't need the money, he just liked trucking.

Oh, just noticed she's your girlfriend. That's no problem; you can still train and team with her with the companies I posted.
