I'll drive anything but right now my auto is quickly climbing the tanks as my favorite. I have a older truck (2007) auto shift freightliner Columbia. I want to get in a new truck with a auto and see the difference. I hate reverse. But the 12 speed forward gears are great. I can pull any hills an normally pass everyone else. Even them gear shifting chrome stack having long nose driving super truckers.
i want to become a truck driver but not if it's manual

I use to drive a 07 Columbia with the same automatic yes the reverse sucks. And then I jumped over to a 2014 Volvo with the new automatic. All I got to say the difference isn't even comparable how Much more technology went into the new system. The truck programs the weight to take off and after it does that it'll let u start in higher gears up to 5th instead of just 2nd gear. The new automatics are SMOOOOOTH and dont sound like a dying donkey after every gear either. It can and will out shift a humanLux Prometheus Thanks this.

That's what I figured. Yeah this year is one of the first years they came out with the autos so it's still in infant stages. It works just clunky. Haha

I have a 2014 KW 680 Eaton Ultra shift Plus, and a rookie can out shift this thing. Also from the guy who said he can pass everybody else its because you have less weight you are hauling. I know in manual mode this thing works like a charm. Its not shifting at 1200 or 1300. I can pull better at 11 to 1200. This thing I guess is still new but always starts off in 2nd gear even if you are bob tailing. Maybe the Volvo has there stuff together, but keeping this in auto mode going through mountains or hills will take all day. Put it in manual and do what it do. It's also funny in manual mode it will be telling you to shift up. When in Auto mode it doesn't shift up at that rpm. But again it only has 3500 miles on it so maybe it will get better. I'll let it do its thing in LA and San Diego traffic tmrw. If I'm patient enough.

Unfortunatly, you can't think as fast as an ishift, or shift as economically either, been there, have the tshirt, bought an ishift,, and I like it..
BUT,,, learn on a stick, then when your old and crotchety, with a severely worn out left knee, get an ishift!!!!!!! Lolololproducelove85 and Lux Prometheus Thank this. -
True That. If it was bad and dangerous it wouldn't be out there

You drive an automatic? Better hand over your testicles, wouldn't want them to get in the way while your watching the View.
