Long as you are going old school, forget the cassette and go the whole nine yards.... get an 8 track.

I love my ipod too much and they dont make any cassettes of my favorite bands lol. I figure if they did it without gps, so can I. But I'm not giving the phone or ipod up lol. Dont get me wrong technology is great, but I want some of that just reading a map and road sign stuff.

A driver that can hop in any kind of truck & trailer(s). Tankers/Twin Sticks/Lowboy/Reefer/Transfer you get the idea. That would be a Top Hand.:yes2557:

I wanna try and experience as much as possible without being considered a job hopper. My first exp is gonna be in the reefer division with the company im going with, then hopefully after the first year get into flat bedding or tanker after that. Merry christmas to all truckers, military personnel, and their families.

Never go full auto. Never. Almost like never going full gay in the movies.

In regard to the premise of the thread, I think it's a bad idea to get a CDL that is endorsed only for automatics. If you want to have the most options for your career, then you need to be able to drive a clutch, and preferably be able to at least drive 8's, 10's, and 13's. The more you become familiar with a variety of transmission set ups, the more options you will have. The great majority of companies don't have automatics, so you are limiting yourself to a small segment of the job market.

If you ultimately want to drive an automatic, then at least be qualified to drive a manual.

Guess I'm a little too old school to know what this means. Kinda afraid to ask for an interpretation.

]There is more to being a truck driver than just driving a truck you better get used to adversity and driving a 13 speed would be a good start. If this is something you really want to do
