HEY!!!! Watch it! You'll need us school bus drivers that make the leap one of these days!!
    "Manuel" would, of course!

:wtf: I have full control of any auto I drive, whether it be the school bus or my F150 Lightning.

Hell, my wife's 2012 Focus is a 6-speed "automanual" (or manumatic), shifts just like a manual, shifts faster than a human, and gets significantly better fuel milage than the 6-sp manual offered as an option.

Truth is, it's just a matter of time before autos replace all manuals: partly because most 'murkins can't drive manuals anymore; and mostly because it costs a metric farkton to fix the ground-up gears in a manual, where the auto will never miss a shift and grind itself up.

If you feel abused, it is most likely that the drivers view your question as somewhat "prissy". It leads one to think, what else might Whopper not want to do? Crawling around under your trailer ok? How about getting up in the middle of the night in order to bump a dock at a certain time? Folding stiff tarps when it is mind-numbing cold? Stay away from home for a month?

The experienced drivers still have to do all this stuff, and I think it rubs them the wrong way when a wannabe doesn't realize they have to pay dues. FYI - I say this as a wannabe myself.

I love my automatic. Makes driving a lot less strenuous. I drive a manual for the last 5 years. This auto is great. Just hit the throttle and go. No missing gears, no finding the right gear on hills, no constant clutching through towns. I can concentrate on them dumb four wheelers a lot more now. And hold a sandwich while I drive.

Clutching isn't hard. You only clutch on take offs. Other than that I never touched the clutch.

Why are you guy's girls picking on "Whopperjr" ? he/she asked a legitimate question -- Just put it in "LO" you only have to use the clutch once (Stands for " Lazy Operator ") and mash it to the floor, The truck will drive itself!
Seriously, how do you Auto drivers stay awake --what else do you have to do for 11 hours, --Oh "Facebook, Texting " ?
I could see autos for you "old hands " who's knees are shot --but a "newbie" ? The only fun in driving is "shifting, backing and tight turns" --if you take those out --you might as well drive a city bus, make good money and be home every night.:Bus v2:

How can you have 4 years experience and say you have those problems. You very seldom touch a clutch but to stop and start. Heck unless you in traffic or going through towns. You dont even use the stick much. It's just a cool hand rest. By the way people have been able to eat sandwiches, pay attention to traffic, argue with your wife while your girlfriend listens on 3 way. All on a regular hold up to your ear phone. Going through Donner pass. :)
