Hauling fuel has a lot of autos,or the fleet I drove for did.
I tested out in the only manual 10 speed they had.
They like autos for smooth shifting, and not sloshing
fuel in city traffic.
Auto was good for heavy city traffic, but I would rather
feel like a man at the end of a day of driving.
Sure, your gonna chip a nail every now and then on the
splitter, and may even end up with a huge left leg..but
that's nothing in the scheme of becoming a supertrucker.
I guess you wanna shower weekly too?producelove85 Thanks this. -
I will say backing up a 3/4 full smooth bore tanker is a pain in this auto. Almost have to floor it to get it to move in reverse then your hauling ### so you hit brakes. Start all over. Other than that I don't mind this auto.
Dinomite Thanks this. -
i don't need showers i can buy wet ones at wal mart
he's checking down there to make sure its odor free and it is thats why hes smiling. he's me, in the future.

I don't care that auto is smooth but manual is a legit thing on trucks. It's fun to shift than computer controlling that crap. I grew up with other truck drivers shifting manual so I will always drive manual. Again, Auto is for #######
..........Period
pattyj Thanks this. -
DONT be one of those dudes who only showers when the moons full or the month starts with the letter j.lol.

If moving a shifter 800 times a day makes you feel like a man you have deeper issues than a transmission in a truck.
Lux Prometheus and biggare1980 Thank this. -
You haven't drove a standard much have you?Yes you do have to shift a lot but so what, you get use to it and becomes second nature.Me driving an automatic trk would be like me driving my car.Something just doesn't fit here in the trk driving profession.

I drove a manual for the last 5 years. Just recently got this auto. So yeah I have.
I can just see you. "Shift" YEAH "Shift" YEAH "shift" YEAH!!!!!
Hahaproducelove85 and Lux Prometheus Thank this. -
For those who don't know jack about Auto's. It has a manual position where you can change the gears and feel like a Truck Driver and Not a Steering wheel holder. But for those who keep it in auto all the time. I wonder how you do it. I am picking up a few tricks like taking my foot off the pedal when I feel its about to shift, and that sometimes help, but sometimes the transmission doesn't want to be rushed. So you can push the up shift button and it switch or it will beep at you and tell you to go to the hot place. I'm glad I'm not the only one who have issue's backing up with this auto. Me in an Automatic is just the MAN trying to slow a super trucker down. It's going to take more then that Amigo. Yeeee hawwww
