Sorry on late reply. I have my truck outside of my carrier so not an LP truck.
Reason my title will be a Tennessee Title and not a Georgia title when I pay off the truck is bc my carrier is based in TN and for some reason they allow me to exempt on paying taxes on this truck bc they're based in TN. So yippee for me.
So I dont have the title bc I havent paid it off. But I should have a bill of sale laying around. But if I get my own tags that would mean I would have to do my own ifta fuel taxes correct? Unless my carrier wouldn't mind doing them but for some reason Idk if they will let me get my tags but I do want to at least know how to get them.

Is it as simple as your car? Just bring the money in and your info to them and they produce your license plate. But would they want a dot# and mc# as well I'd assume.

U will need last years mileage per state. Then the rest of everything should be based off your carriers address and etc. a copy of the title with the lien holder on it should be fine.

GA DMV should have a long little list of stuff on its IRP checklist

Not anymore. They make you buy all 48 states & canada. And use their estimated milage

No they don't. I have trucks that are limited to five stares because they are regional only.

Actually the states collect on the backside now where before the collected on the front side.
Before if you wanted to run a state other than the one you lived in you had to estimate what miles you would run in that state. (front side)
Now you can run any state then when you renew your plate you report what states and how many miles in each state. (backside)
I don't know how it works for a fresh new plate but I'm going to GUESS you will have to estimate for the first year but that is a guess.

Well maybe. For a new authority I know they do estimates because there’s no hard IFTA data. But from then on my dmv wants IFTA miles then bases the plate cost off those

You guys, they've always estimated everything up front on the states you select but they didn't just do a blanket 48 and Canada. I just got this done in September with a new authority.

    Clarification: New irp accounts must.

This was implemented back in ‘16. I was forced into it. I only wanted from Va north to MA right up & down 95. But they would have none of it.
