Eggsactly- heck my 99 F-350 has a gvwr of only 11,500, so in effect I have 14,500 worth of trailer and cars before I'd need a CDL. But then you gotta watch the RAWR, my dually RAWR is only 8,500. Not easy to keep under but do-able.
I want to haul cars...Do I Need a CDL ?

thanks for the replies guys....
If I go for my CDL with the dually would I have to take some class ? Or do I go take a driving test with the rig ? Also, would there be a written portion of the test ?
I'm pretty certain I will be driving this rig to states that border NYS...OH, PA, VT, DE, NJ, WV, etc. -
Take the permit test. There are practice test on this site. Then depending on your state you can go test in the dually. If you so happen to see in your future that you may want to drive a full sized rig then find a truck and take the test. If you dont then take the test in what you have

Oh yeah i found it, if your combination is over 26k you need one with that 10k trailer. Cdl isnt that hard to get, id get one and load up. SC still requires one.
