I want be a trucker, truck owner later, and buy a house. For karma's sakes, show me a way to pass my DOT Physical. I have never had drugs in my life, no at-fault accidents and tickets for more than 5 years. Failing the physical over Flexiril is not fair. Should I go to another clinic and lie this time about my medications? Will the doctor write an email to clinic telling them that he won't give me any more flexiril in future? I can't wait till monday
Please help, please!!!! I am jobless, and burning my savings![]()

Oh man, so sorry to hear the bad news about the physical. I was rooting for you.
I personally do not recommend going to another place for a physical and lying. Just a general life lesson I've learned that lying usually makes things in the end go a lot worse than being honest. However, for your specific situation with this, I have no direct experience.
I really hope you can figure something out. Good luck and I'm rooting for you!!firemedic2816 and hopeful eyes Thank this. -
Sadly, you aren't alone. This industry has been over regulated to the point, good people with good intentions are being held back, and would make great drivers. Not sure what to tell you except, you were born 25 years too late, and if you want to drive a truck today, there is zero tolerance, people been trying to get around the physical for years. It's big business, these physicals, generates millions and you're on the brown end of the stick. Got to be something you can do, Walmart is begging for workers. I realize it may not be trucking, but the great Rolling Stones once said,,,"You can't always get what you want",,Good luck.

Have you ever experimented with something like this? It's supposed to relieve pressure on the spine and neck.
I would like to try it myself.

Just discovered a version of that song with some great guitar solos.

Had a friend that tried one, had some relief, but in the long run, nothing works. Is that what this is about, back pain? Perhaps the poster should look elsewhere, it won't get any better driving , or UNLOADING a truck.Muddydog79 Thanks this.

Do not go to another clinic and lie!. Those forms get turned in and put in the data base. It will send red flags that your “Doctor shopping” .
Get with your doctor and see if there is a approved medication on the FMCSA approved list that you can take. Good luck -
In your other thread on this topic, they gave you some really good advice. Did you get a 2nd opinion or go to a private doctor?

If it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all...
About a month prior to my shoulder surgery, I hopped on my riding lawn mower to cut the grass. Half hour in, it was a bit chilly so I went inside and put on blue jeans. Finished the mowing, came inside and felt the beginning of what would be a long bout of lower back pain.
That back pain turned into numbness in my left leg, and a floppy left foot that hit the floor a little harder than my right foot. My stride sounded gimpy.
That numbness turned into some intense sciatica with pins and needles all over my left outboard calf muscle. By this time I had already ordered a Teeter inversion table.
I only had about two weeks to use it before my shoulder surgery, but I was inverting at least twice a day. My doc’s PA told me not to use it again for six weeks. Screw that. I’m not going to deal with both sciatica AND shoulder surgery. How miserable do they want me to be?
Two days after surgery, I started inverting again, twice a day. At almost three weeks post surgery, I sit here pain free. Inverting is something you need to do every day for spine maintenance. The problem is that once the pain goes away, you quit making it a priority.tommymonza, homeskillet and silverspur Thank this. -
I have a bad back and take Hydrocordone for it when I am really in pain. Rarely happens while trucking. I can usually drive 11 yours with no problem. I take clononzapem to help me sleep. I get a solid 7 hours. If I don't take it I toss and turn all night because of the back pain. Most docs now are trying to dial back opiates and want you to do pain management. I have three degenerative disks in my back and that's a waste of time. One bottle of hydrocordone will last me over three months, so I don't disclose that. I have never failed a drug test and have taken many. Docs now are switching over to naprosan instead, but they do nothing for me. When I apply I just tell them no touch. I can still get in a trailer and strap things, but I can't help unload.Last edited: Dec 20, 2020
