Before everyone beats up on the guy, I was sick of trucking after six months and was still 21 years old - low pay, always gone, and the one that still kills me, no pay for company directed tasks like waiting.

I'm no trucker I guess but have managed about 700,000 miles accident free, 300,000 with a set, carry an Ohio triples card in my wallet, and my only Con-way "accident" was needing a pull from a wrecker after getting stuck on a 10 ton road making a local delivery with my usual 53' in Central Pa during heavy snow. I know that's not a lot of experience compared to some but that certainly makes my opinions valid.. After 8 years behind the wheel mainly in Pa & NJ at 29 my opinion is certainly valid..

Trucking sucks - I guess some are OK with it but I was not. I love driving the truck and I love my current gig but I'm not a trucker - I'm just a typical college dude that likes driving and is pretty good at it. If not for finding my current gig, I would have left "trucking" about 500,000 safe miles ago..

thanks for reminding me to make sure i have a current application on file at my conway terminal.

And yeah, i love how they'll take your layover pay by giving you a load after you've been sitting for 20 hours, that picks up 28 hours later....its STILL waiting.
