I've heard that before from a guy who heard it from another guy who's sister read about it in a supermarket checkout line, it must be true.

It's comforting knowing the USA is there to protect the buffer zone between Russia and the United States known as Canada and it's vast resources that are necessary to the U.S. economy and war effort and is easily accessible by our good friends and neighbours to the south so they don't have to send soldiers to procure oil or other American interests and have their military die senselessly.

To folks who may have been offended by my comments, my intent was not to insult but to provoke thought, I apologize.

I realize some folks in the US don't know much about Canukistan and wouldn't redly recognize CDN humour or the CDN stereotype in that we're all supposed to be French speaking hockey players, we say "Eh" a lot, drink a lot of beer, eat a lot of poutine, we like to poke fun at ourselves and we're a bunch of commie socialists.

I live in upstate NY 30 miles from the border and I see the Canadian cars around town.
I've long thought- isn't it amazing, in this region of extreme poverty...with limited doctors etc and many consumers of medicine paying with medicaid , medicare, VA or some form of government insurance...So many Americans in Jefferson/Lewis/St Lawrence county can barely manage what scraps of medicine the 'system' will provide... yet here these miserable suffering Canadians who just don't want to wait the 3 more weeks for that diagnostic test so they come down and pay for it themselves Out Of Pocket.
yeah- you tell my neighbor looking for medicaid doctors how terrible it must be for those Canucks to drive their (nice) cars down over the bridge and have the cash for services above and beyond what they already can get free....

 

When I was a kid I met Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull, Sydney's not all that.

 

I speak and write English and it seems reasonable to me to use words properly. "Foreigner" has a specific meaning and if I use it as defined, if anyone has an issue with it that's their problem not mine.

I grew up in the Cold War and McCarthy or no McCarthy, I will call Communism Communism when I see it, and control of the language is Communism.
