I was told I dont use enough grease.

    I tried those a few times. I like the grease out of a gun or when it is cold I use the Gear Head Fifth Wheel Grease Pads - Gear Head Lube to make it work faster. I like this stuff since it is a little cleaner.

    Put a fiber piece on the fifth wheel and use no grease. Not the disc that attaches to the king pin, but the 2 piece that bolts to the 5th wheel.

    My background dealing with fleet drivers. You can't instruct some people.

    My equipment now, I have Teflon on both trailers. I grease my jaws only.

    I do wipe my plate with WD40 once in awhile, so it doest look so rusty.

    To many great responses to try and reply to all of them. I do raise the trailer and drop the suspension. Most of the time. But i often forget to raise the trailer. I do this both dropping and hooking.
    I was told this by 2 different drivers over the years.
    I did not know about the jaws, on the hinges or is there a nipple for it?
    Some times there are dry spots.
    I do it every drop n hook or every 3 weeks.
    I never thought about grease g to high. I just scrape the excess every couple weeks or each DNH.

    One day I will go that route. I should had done it when I got the new truck but that did not happen. I do like the idea but have never used it.
