I was told they are getting rid of DEF, could it be true?

I was thinking most of it settles to the ground and becomes harmless...

How do they really come up with how much it will save in medical bills or lives? If it saved 20 people from death, was it worth the cost of all the repairs, extra fuel burned, and all other associated rises in the cost of transportation? I guess that leads to what is the value of a human life..

I am sure that by "scientific evidence", which was just as good scientifically procured as Al Gore's climate change movie.

Sure. Most asbestos is harmless, but it too has a nasty habit of throwing off some particles that are just the wrong size for human lungs...

European standards for Diesel mandate minimum Cetane rating of 50,And there has to be a sticker on every pump..unlike this country.Their diesels burn waay cleaner than ours do.

    They don't, actually.

In North America we do our emissions like this.
"Burn 1 gallon of fuel and you can produce x amount of co, co2, nox, etc.etc.etc."
Without any regard to how far the vehicle will travel on that gallon.

    Europe says
"You can put out x amount of co, co2, nox, etc.etc.etc. per km of travel"
It has resulted in cars that will burn dirtier but will use less fuel so over the same work done the vehicle used less fuel and put less into the atmosphere.

Remember how fuel tax is collected here and our reliance on vehicles. Look at why a similar car in Europe has a smaller but same performance engine and gets way more mpg. Look at vw and their euro version of their blue motion. 1.6 litre diesel there gets 70 mpg while here 1.9 litre gets 45-50. Same car just different engine. Not allowed here. And try to tell me oil isn't in bed with government.

    $$$$$$$$$$$$
