My BP monitor that I bought a couple of days ago is showing well below 140/80. I'm going to see another doctor who specializes in DOT physicals today. I don't think that chiropractor knew what they were doing. Will let you all know the results!
I went to a chiropractor for my DOT and got a 3 month card. HELP!

It's not so much what they or they are not knowing, BP is straightforward. It has to show a minimum of 100/60 to be considered low normal medically stable. They wont take people to cath lab or surgery unless it holds 100/60.
I actually was certified long ago to take BP's but they threw the theory out the window and attached my hearing impairment to do a visual take instead. It's rock solid. 120/80 is perfect. Now... when you get towards maximum values it's going to approach somewhere in the range of 220/120 or so during intense activity involving high pulse rates which max is determined by your biological age before it goes into arrest. Usually it's sexual relations that bring on these high values. And no I don't take BP for that anyhow.
One driver did talk about flossing. It's the bacteria that falls from your mouth to the heart inside the blood stream then accumulates in one or more of the valves like a mass. Eventually a peice or all of it will break loose and thrombosis your lungs to death or worse or simply kill you by going to your brain and stroke you to death on the spot when you get old enough for that to happen.scottied67 Thanks this. -

Two aspirin a few hours before your physical will knock 5 points off your BP.
Just go to Schneider. If you can't pass that physical, you do not deserve to be driving a truck, and you are probably going to die soon anyway. It is a bonofide cattle walk.scottied67 and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Not necessarily die this week as Dave put it so mildly. Sometimes peoples lives have been saved by DOT physicals when a issue is detected and ultimately traced to really important medical problems that need to wage battle now.
If a DOT is bad, try a aviation physical. I would not get away writing no on a form to everything. Those doctors are crafty and know exactly what to look for, primarly into the heart system. It needs to be in good shape. Mine is not. Not for Eisenhower Tunnel at 12500 feet anymore. Another doc says he can fix it easy peasy with a artificial part like replacing a hose or something in a car. Im not sure if I wanna carry my rotting body that far into the future.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
